Located around Leith street, don't miss this little warm cafe/ restaurant where you will find amazing crepes (and much more) in very calm and nice atmosphere. Very good service, thanks very much to the people in charge

“Warm Neighbourhood Gem”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

We've been wanting to try this wonderful looking restaurant since it opened and finally went last night. The food was prepared fresh, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere warm and light.

The pierogis are great, served with sautéed onions. I had it with a beetroot salad while my partner enjoyed the "Dracula" crêpe - spinach and tomato with cheese and garlic. There are eight savoury and ten sweet crêpes on offer, plus a good assortment of traditional Polish and Russian dishes, soups, salads, and waffles. Also try the Kubus Play and Tymbark juices.

The prices are astonishingly low for such wholesome fare. The owners subscribe to Carlo Petrini's Slow Food movement ideals and offer organic ingredients wherever possible, and use free range eggs in their crêpes.

We will certainly be back again.

“Excellent place to have tasty food as well as just to seat relax and slow down”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Very very nice atmosphere, pop in even just for central Europe style tea (with lemon and honey!) - have your tea and just relax, read your book or just talk with the very friendly stuff.
If you are hungry pick up anything at random - you will surely enjoy it - it is testy, interesting and for its price quite big portion!
But again what I really liked there is the fact that you could just feel that the owner has idea in his head on how to make you feel just good.

“Nice taste of Poland and beyond”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

My other half and I dropped in on this place during a walk back to central Edinburgh from Leith and we were really very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is a cosy welcoming space with room for around 20 people at a time and some nice artwork on the walls. The menu is predominantly of a Polish flavour, with favourites such as bigos, krokiety and pierogi all available as well as other chicken and pork dishes, soups and daily specials. There are also offerings of beef stroganoff, Russian dumplings and a wide selection of savoury and sweet crepes, as well as waffles and salads. We had some sauerkraut and mushroom krokiety, pork and beef pierogi and a couple of herbata (Polish style tea with lemon and honey) - all the food was very tasty and arrived in good time and was of very good value. On top of all this the staff were really friendly. We will be back!

“Little Jewel on Leith Walk”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Yellow Bench is a great cosy place! They have fresh organic food, always tasty. Portions are great, you won't leave this place hungry! And the same time you will not get bankrupt! My favourite are they soups, different every day, crepes and Polish pierogi's. Staff is very nice and friendly, they do home deliveries, but it is just so lovely there that we always go there ourselves! Highly recommended place!
