“Well fed and well worth it”

A good new Indian restaurant which is very welcoming and offers great food at great prices. I have been there a few times since its recent opening and would recommend it highly. My friend and I shared a starter and had a good sized main course each along with rice and a very large Naan bread. Everything was presented well and I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.

“Excellent Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

You will be more than pleasantly surprised with the food in this centrally located restaurant. The food and service were both excellent. We are both curry lovers and without doubt this the best curry we have had in two years. We would highly recommend this place for food, service and value for money

“Well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

Have eaten in the Royal Spice several times since it opened recently and have also sampled a takeaway. Have not been disappointed yet! Food is just fantastic - cooked to perfection and so tasty. Naan bread is huge! Know the new owner from his days in Khushi's in Broughton Street and knew the standard of service would be high - so it has proved. Attentive friendly staff who will offer advice if asked if you are undecided or not sure what you want. Offer chicken korma or curry at 2 for £10 which is excellent value for anyone who may be on a budget. Cannot recommend Royal Spice highly enough and look forward to many future visits!

Went to Royal Spice one Sunday in December after finishing Christmas shopping. My wife and i had a groupon deal where we shared a large starter and both had a main meal with rice .we also ordered naan bread which was huge .Royal Spice has a policy where you can bring your own bottle ,no corkage charge,so we enjoyed a bottle of red wine ,the restaurant is very clean quite romantic with candles and the food is excellent .The staff are very friendly ,overall we would highly recommend this restaurant.

“Surprisingly Flavorful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

During the rainy weather of late December, my family and I were hungry after shopping up and down the Royal Mile. We took a chance on Royal Spice, located just off the RM on the edge of a small square near the Tron Church - which had just opened for lunch. Not only that, it turns out the restaurant itself is fairly new - having replaced an iconic seafood restaurant within the past few months. We were the first folks in the door that wet day and the sole server was still setting up the tables. However, she made us feel welcome and guided us through the lunch specials on the menu. While the ambience is still somewhat sparse, the food was really quite good. It was perfectly spiced and very satisfying. The mango lassi was smooth just the right amount of sweet, the garlic naan HUGE, soft and delectable. We hope this restaurant makes it and builds on its solid menu.
