Description: Brew Lab | Artisan Coffee Bar is a speciality coffee shop in Edinburgh. We brew single origin espresso, roasted by Has Bean on our Slayer Espresso Machine, and single origin filter coffees from some of the UK's best roasters on our Marco Uber Boiler. We use brewing methods that bring out the best in the coffee including syphons, V60, Chemex, Clever Dripper, Espro Press and Aeropress. We aim to showcase some of the most exceptional local artisan produce Edinburgh has to offer. Including hot chocolates created by master chocolatiers Edward & Irwyn, fine teas blended by tea merchants Pekoe Tea, homemade soups from soup mongers Union of Genius, stunning cakes from Lovecrumbs and amazing fresh bread and pastries from Le Petit Français Boulangerie-Patisserie. Brew Lab is a celebration of the coffee house. A place to meet, discuss, argue, eat, drink, listen to music, work, think, read, chat, play and laugh, all the while experiencing the best that Edinburgh has to offer in terms of produce, music and culture.

Brew lab is a place that I visit on a weekly, if not daily basis. Although it is often busy, you can always manage to find a seat and being surrounded by tons of other coffee lovers is half the fun! If you prefer a less busy environment, I would recommend going when it opens, they do a delicious porridge!

The interior is relaxed and rustic and there is always great music playing. The coffee is delicious and the staff (who are so friendly!) are always happy to offer advice and their expert opinion and recommendations. They have delicious sandwiches that rotate weekly (as well as a vegan/vegetarian option) and 2 delicious soups.

I take all my visitors in Edinburgh to Brew Lab and my weeks wouldn't be the same without it!

We have been here a few times and always really enjoy the coffee, it's great that you can get a choice of beans when getting a flat white! Going a bit over the top with the rustic interior, but overall a really nice place if you feel like a good coffee and perhaps a large sandwich.

Brew lab is another one of Edinburgh's class leading coffee shops. Brewed using a stunning looking slayer espresso machine and touting a range of guest coffee's as well as their usual blend. The food is also excellent, soups and sandwiches that look wholesome, home made and healthy.

SO what's the downside? well there's only one. Its a popular place, especially with the "Macbook crowd", and a lot of campers like to pitch up. So getting somewhere to sit isn't always easy. But its worth the wait, and certainly worth a takeaway.

I just love this place. Absolutely perfect. My favorite place to have my flatwhite coffee and work, read, socialize, etc. it attracts an intellectual crowd, staff is friendly, has free wifi, located in the city center and close to the university, but too bad it closed at 6 I think.

Had a few people tell me to go here. This is not somewhere if you want breakfast. Coffee was very nice but there are plenty on the Edinburgh coffee lovers blog that are just as good. Relaxed environment. Only 2 gripes are 30p charge for using card, which is very 1990s and no one said thanks or goodbye even though it was very quiet.
