A very nice wee place. Popped in here for lunch one day mid week. The food was good and the service was good, fairly quick too, which can sometimes be a worry if you need to get back to work. Wouldn't need my arm twisted to go back.

I visited The Roamin' Nose for a family member's birthday, after having a lovely meal there last December. The food was exceptional and the atmsophere was lovely but the customer service was awful. We were a table of six and the waitress read out the specials and three people ordered the same special. When these arrived - all three of the diners wondered where the accompanying potatoes were, as they had all heard that the salmon would be accompanied with potatoes. We were told, after enquiring about this, that there were no potatoes and we had ALL misheard. One of the other diners had potato chips but we weren't offered these as an alternative. It was such a shame because we all thought the food was lovely but I don't think it's wise to suggest your customers are liars. They could have dealt with the situation much better. Unfortunately - we won't be returning again. The food is exceptional and the restuarant is quirky in a good way but the staff need to go back to charm school or atleast learn that the customer is always right.

After arriving in Edinburgh and settling in our apartment for the week, a meal was in order. Across the street was this neat cafe. So we headed over for lunch . Nice spot, welcoming staff, good food. and because it was across the street, we tried it several times for breakfast too-- full breakfast , which I love, and great lattes! Nice local spot

Had a lovely mid-week dinner here. Specials make sure the menu is always varied and interesting. Food was delicious home-cooking, reasonably priced with friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. Can't ask for much more! Will definitely be back!

Went for Sunday late afternoon bite with girlfriend. Looks closed from outside due to tinited glass window (keeps you cool inside) but it's definitely Open for business. Once you're inside the welcoming staff will run you through the special "light bites" (veal, salmon, crab etc). She had the veal served with delish home-made fresh bread while I opted for freshest home-made burger I've had for ages with "special secret sauce" and salad trimming and wafer chips....all washed down with a refershing glass of house white. A well made flat white (not easy) washed down my home-made orange cake (with choc-orange sauce on the side yum). Really reasonably priced too (£23 for all this waow). The place is also child friendly with a toy-box but not sooo welcoming that it's over-run with prams:-). These guys will do really. Perfect for a couples or family lunch or equally a night with plenty of Italian wine washing down dinner.
