Tried to book online for two treatments for 5 days time which the system wouldn't allow me to do and so I used their email system to book. Hadn't heard anything 24 hours later and called to follow up. Extremely rude customer service and they put the phone down on me. Would NOT recommend based on this - the exact OPPOSITE of a relaxing spa treatment!

Visited this site as part of a spa package, oh dear. The reception area is small, not enough seats for our party. You are then asked if you want a spa package bag for £6 and £10 deposit, thinking you may get some body lotion, samples etc, you have the returnable towel, robe and flip flops, stuff I'd just had for nothing at the hotel spa I had just left, you get to keep the flip flops. It's a bit of a maze to find the changing rooms, actual spa etc, up and down various stairs - there is a lift if needed. We were 'delighted' to be told the pool was out of action, but the jacuzzi was running. We changed and the first of us went downstairs to our massage, which was very good and professional, then into the relaxation room which was ok... the nail bar and waiting area for the spa is in a corridor. After that things went downhill, the facilities are just a sauna and a steam room, jacuzzi - which was grubby - surrounded by half a dozen loungers and a view out onto a roof top area with half a dozen dead plants in an attempt at terracing, with no access (this could have been quite pleasant if thought about). I was quite dismayed at the pool side showers - grotty, old tiles and grout - our local municipal pools are much better. Needless to say, we didn't stay long. The showers in the changing room weren't much better with only one of us getting hot water. When it came to changing and dressing there were no luxuries like a simple box of tissues or body lotion. Most of us hadn't brought shampoo or conditioner as having had spa visits before, we've never been to one without. As we changed we realised that people were walking past our large frosted glass window by us, this was a little disconcerting as if we could see them quite well, what could they see? Oh, and there's no cafe etc, so you can't really have a day. Not that you'd ever want to.
I guess if you use it for lunchtime gym facilities and it is reasonably priced ok, but as a spa, don't go near it. Sadly I'd left the Sheraton that morning with it's excellent multi-roomed facilities for this dump, a mistake I won't repeat.

My daughter and I had a massage here yesterday. 45 minutes of back, hand and feet, with Emma concentrating most on my shoulders. I've had many massages and Emmas communication and skill meant this was in my top two ( Fiona Campbell at Campbells Bowen Works in Glasgow being number one). My daughter was massaged simultaneously in the same room which and thoroughly enjoyed her treatment.
We also enjoyed pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The lady at reception was welcoming, polite and helpful.
The only downside was having to pay £6 each for gown, towel and flipflops (which you can keep though i didnt want but took as they are disposed of and not recycled.
Well done team.

We use this gym as part of a corporate membership where it's right on our doorstep in town.

The gym has everything you'd expect, with a lot of modern equipment, a lot better than some of the gym's I've been to. They make good use of the tight space available - it would be handy if they had more space allocated for the weight benches as it's difficult to get a place there at times.

Staff are great, and the classes are brilliant too, particularly the new speedflex room.

It's let down by some of the facilities, for example both the pool/jacuzzi facilities and the unisex changing rooms could really do with a refurb, as they're not the cleanest in appearance.

It would also be handy if there were more classes available at lunch times as there are usually 1 or 2 at max which are the same every week.

Really disappointed with the standard of this spa which needs some investment and a refresh. Firstly, was told the wrong time for my appointment which meant rushing there, only to wait for 10 mins then be told it was now at another time and to come back later. The sauna was out of order and there had been a leak in the ceiling over the jacuzzi so most of the ceiling tiles had been taken away. I get that these things happen but would have appreciated being made aware upon time of booking (just the day before) as this was supposed to be a special day (and you expect a certain standard from this chain) but it was leisure centre on a bad day, rather than the spa day somewhere lovely that we'd intended. Did leave a complaint locally for the manager and heard nothing back.
