“A hidden jewel!”

Amar Agua is a wonderful place so say if ever you are in Edinburgh. This is my second attempt at a review as Tripadvisor thought my first was written by the owners as it was that good! And it honestly is fantastic. Beautiful rooms, better breakfasts and wonderful hospitable owners who really take pride in their work. I could write an essay (as I did my first attempt) but all I'll say is find out for yourself! Over 200 excellent reviews- you cannot go wrong!

For the second time, my husband and I stayed at Amar Agua. Incredible! Tony and Dawn-Ann are incredibly gracious hosts who made the stay the best of out multi-city trip. Exceptional food, beautiful accommodations, great advice, etc., etc., etc. The house is a block from public transportation which will take u safely to the sights. Great dining just a opulent of blocks away. Could not ask for more. We will be back! Class-act!

Tony and Dawn-Ann run a great B&B. The room was the best that we stayed in during our recent trip to the UK! The breakfast was great. The service and advice was great. We can't say enough good things about the place. We will never stay anywhere else when we have the opportunity to be in Edinburgh.

Tony and Dawn-Ann were welcoming, friendly and professional. Full of good advice from the closest good restaurants, to which bus to take where, to where to find a launderette. A quiet and charming part of town, yet a short and easy bus ride to the city centre. They gave us a comfortable bed to sleep on and delicious breakfast choices to get up for! I've been to so many places where the bed hurt my back after more than a night, or the general feel of the place was cheap and I am happy to say that at AmarAgua we got nothing but quality our entire stay! A wonderful way to spend our last few days in Edinburgh!

We highly recommend the Amaragua Guest House and would not hesitate to stay there on our next visit to Edinburgh. We stayed for three nights in early July. The facilities were clean and up to date, the rooms well-appointed, the breakfasts just superb and the hosts Tony and Dawn were both very helpful and friendly. They arranged dinner reservations for us, booked us a hire car, loaned us umbrella's, loaned us a small laptop (with free Wi-Fi), and went out of the way to make us happy and secure. We booked the large room at the back - very quiet and comfortable. Amaragua is located south of the city centre, about a 30 minute walk to the Royal Mile in an area known for its B&Bs. Bus service was frequent, takes about 5-7 minutes, and deposits you right in the downtown core.

Room Tip: The street out front is small and little travelled so noise is very low... our room at the back of t...

What a great ending to our trip through Scotland! Our room at AmarAgua was gorgeous. We had number 5 on the top floor with a beautiful view of Arthur's Seat. Waking up in that super comfortable 4-poster bed was such a treat. Tony and Dawn were wonderful hosts and we really appreciated the opportunity to talk to them and their recommendations helped us get the most out of our brief 2 days. Breakfast was wonderful!!!!! Thank you

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here with my partner. We were welcomed by the wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Breakfast was brilliant, I had a poached egg with smoked salmon the first day and waffles with berries the second. The room was comfortable and very stylish, we had a four poster white bed and white French style furniture. I would definitely recommend Amaragua to anyone.
