I stayed here for two nights on my return to Edinburgh to see my football team play in the Scottish Cup Final. Accommodation was difficult to find because of the clash with the Edinburgh marathon but I am glad that I found this little gem. Immediately after booking, Danny had provided details by e-mail on the buses to catch from the railway station to the guest house. Jasmine met me upon arrival and she was very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well stocked with water, tea, coffee and biscuits. Breakfast is very good and whatever you ask for is cooked freshly for you. When I next return to Edinburgh, I would be very happy to stay here again.

I stayed at the Mackenzie guest house during my short stay in Edinburgh for a short break.

It is situated about 2 miles from Princes Street and close to Leith waterfront for the Britannia and several seafood restaurants. Buses 12 and 25 take you directly from Princes Street and they stop directly opposite the guest house.

I stayed in room 2 with a double bed (even though I was staying alone) and had a private bathroom with shower gel etc across the landing (with a bathrobe in the wardrobe). The room had everything you could possibly require, flat screen tv, kettle and tea/coffee facilities, bottle of water, hairdryer and on request iron and ironing board. A bathrobe was also provided.

Breakfast consisted of fruit juice, cereals, fry-up (where you could specify which items you did/did not want) and toast and jams with tea/coffee.

The owners Danny and Jasmine are a young couple who care about their guests.

On the edge of Leith Links, this is a lovely little guest house. Danny and Jasmine are wonderful hosts, going out of the way to make sure guests have everything they need. Nice, spotlessly clean room with tea and coffee making facilities plus a good breakfast. Easy access to all the sights of Edinburgh and Leith with transport information and maps provided. Stairs not easy for anyone with mobility problems. On street parking was not a problem at all, we parked right outside each time. Very quiet room. We will definitely stay again.

Danny and Jasmine Tang are a warm and welcoming couple. The location was superb, walking distance from the Shore. Breakfast was great and just what was required in the morning. Also the room was spotless, a stumbling block for other guest houses. Will definitely be back

We just got home from Edinburgh/Mackenzie House. Danny and Jasmine were wonderful hosts providing bus information, making arrangements for a cab to the airport, to leaving breakfast out at 6 AM for our departure. Breakfasts were wonderful. Our room was at the front of the house overlooking the park across the street. We were there early spring so street noise was not a problem. the bus stopped right if front of the house. The only drawback might be 2 flights of stairs with no elevator- no problem for us. Very clean. would stay again. Loved tea in the room.

At this price (£62/night, double, ensuite) you really have to be picky to find fault. Very friendly and clean. Spacious room with modern adequate shower-room. Nice new TV, view of the links and easy parking outside. Well prepared and ample breakfast, free WiFi. The only thing I would change are the white cups on the tray which are too small and awkward to hold (but probably indestructable and would never get stolen). We will use again Thanks!!
