“Excellent B&B - home away from home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2011

This was our first visit to Scotland and our first time staying at a B&B. Our host were very welcoming and friendly. The room we had was large, clean & comfortable. The breakfast each morning was very good as well. Felt like we were staying with friends or family. Bus line runs right in front. We would definitely stay here again. Lola (the host dog) was very cute/sweet. There is a large open park across Pilrig St from the house.

Stayed here quite a few times over the years and always found it was a lovely retreat and being sort of midwayish between the Leith and the City centre an ideal spot.

As with any B&B its a room you are booking and not a hotel with full leisure facilities so some of the very few negative comments had me smiling - as did the comments about the shower being too small (try a diet maybe)

Breakfast is thoroughly civilized and freshly prepared which is something you rarely get in a hotel of course.

All in all a little gem that is clearly very popular (a lot of folk seem to be reat guests) and often fully booked so plan ahead especially during the peak demand periods.

Great place. Stylish, easy to find, parking right out front and a bus stop opposite. Walking distance to whatever you want in Leith and the bus gets you to Princes Street in no time. Breakfast is great as well. Will stay here again!

We had an amazing time! We managed to do 6 of the 'top ten things to do in Edinburgh' and will definatly going back to do the other 4! I'd even go back just for the breakfasts! Oh my god they are amazing! best cooked full breakfast I think I have ever had, even the haggis was delicious!

If you don't know where to eat out just ask them, they have amazing taste and were spot on which every suggestion they made, we really enjoyed out anniversary.

Really can't recommend it enough : )

Excellent and friendly service. Clean, modern design in the rooms. Excellent breakfasts. Plus, the Number 11 bus, which stops right outside the door and connects you with downtown Edinburgh and most of the venues for the International Festival--as well as many of the Fringe venues--is beyond convenient. I have booked several week long stays here over the years and recommend it highly.

We spent 3 nights in Room 4 of this B&B for a long weekend. The room overlooked the back garden and was very quiet. We slept with the window open to get a fresh breeze but it was not uncomfortably hot or cold. Ensuite room was spotless and tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed and good tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast was top notch with lots of variety, especially the buffet. Husband had haggis twice with the full Scottish upon request. The owners were friendly and usually around when we popped in and out throughout the day. They had provided a very useful tourist guide with recommended shopping areas and restaurants/bars. Location is about 20 minute walk uphill or 5 min bus ride to Princes St. Also very convenient for Ocean Terminal shopping center. Plenty of free parking on the street outside of the house. Overall we spent a great few nights in Edinburgh made even better by Ardmor House.
