Stayed here half team holidays , hotel is 1st impressions smart and modern. Our room could have done with some decorating no skirting boards on some on the walls and marks all over the walls. The pool area was small but the kids enjoyed it , only grip with the pool was the turtle tots club lovely to watch but they take up the pool and surrounding areas I think management should look at allocating earlier times for the club (whilst there guests are having breakfast ? ) my son was most upset that he couldn't swim whilst the club was taking place from 10-11.30 .
Breakfasts where spot on.
Great base for Edinburgh city centre

My sister and I recently spent 2 nights at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre on the 27th and 28th January and I have to say I was impressed by the staff who seemed determined to make our stay special. Reception was very friendly, as were all the staff. Our room was lovely, clean and large with everything you needed. The heated indoor pool and spa (jacuzzi) area was a fantastic place to unwind and one of the reasons we booked into this hotel. We used the facilities both nights of our stay after long days of sightseeing. Our breakfast was included in the room rate which we believe was very reasonable...(89 pounds) $132.50 aud per night for both of us, with a delicious buffet breakfast included, well that was a bargain. We didn't have dinner there, so can't comment on that. We also chose this hotel because of its central location and there was a hop on hop off bus stop across the road too. Our room even had a limited view of the castle. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will definately consider it if we ever visit Edinburgh again.

Just returned from two nights at the Novotel Edinburgh. Hotel well located, staff very friendly and efficient. Room very clean and comfortable. The pool, although small, served it's purpose and the steam room and sauna were fine. The only small gripe is that the heating is too high throughout the hotel, particularly in the communal areas. The carbon footprint could be reduced significantly at the same time as making the customers more comfortable, win win!

Decent sized room even with a sofa bed made up for our daughter. Breakfasts were better than most. Staff were very helpful. About a 15 minute walk from the city center. Useful that sight seeing bus stopped right outside.

Wife and daughter recommend the swimming pool.

My boyfriend and i stayed here for our valentines weekend away and we were not disappointed. The hotel was very easy to find from Waverly station (20 min walk with suitcases). The reception staff were very friendly and made sure we checked in to our room quickly. They then helped us out with directions and recommended places for dinner. The pool and other leisure facilities were very good and always clean and open until quite late. The hotel itself is only a few minutes walk from the grassmarket and about 10mins from the royal mile, so it was an ideal location for exploring the city. We didn't stay for breaktfast as it was quite pricey, however there was a lovely little cafe just round the corner. Only complaint was that the room was very warm even with the windows wide open! But overall a lovely stay, would definitly stay there again!

Light, bright, airy and clean.
Must be good as BA put their aircrew there.
Only a 5 minute walk to the lively Grass-market area and only a 10 minute walk to town.
Nice pool and sauna too.
We skipped the breakfast option and found a lovely Turkish cafe round the corner.

Room Tip: They have an executive upgrade option which can be good value - ask during check-in.

This Novotel is decent, good-priced option for business stays. The breakfast buffet is very generous. The major downside to this hotel is the chlorine smell from the pool on the lower ground floor that greets you in reception on arrival and stays with you until you get in the lift. Surely something can be done about this.
