The entrance is very unattractive but once inside everything is really great. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and competent. A really nice "Scottish" experience in a very central location in Edinburgh.

This place is right in the city center and perfect to walk around for shopping and restaurants. It's very basic and clean, nothing fancy. The bed was comfortable and the room was relatively quiet for being downtown. This place is comparable to a USA Budget 6 or Super 8. Street Parking on George Street is the most convenient. Staff was very helpful with some last minute planning as we departed to see the Highlands. No breakfast but was not expected. Just a nice close place to sleep.

Room Tip: Rooms are the top floor help provide a nice view of the city and further away from street noise.

It was a pleasant surprise when I saw the hotel location (just opposite the waverley station!) and rooms. I made two bookings, 2 and three nights. During my first stay the room had a view on the Lane but it was nice and quiet. The bed is perfect, king size and soft, I had a great sleep. The facilities are corresponded to the value. It was very very clean and smelled freshness.
People at the reception were very kind. We needed a auropean adaptor and they hadn't though but we charged our devices in the bathroom where you usually charge shavers.
During our second stay we had a giant room on the fourth flour with an amazing view of Princess Street, the Mound and the Castle, Scott's Monument, Calton Hill and Arthur's seat! It was amazing considering the low prices (65-70bp/per night). There was also TV, coffee and tea facilities in the room. Breakfast and wi-fi are extra charged.

Great location, very friendly and well organised, extremely clean. I would definitely stay there next time!

Room Tip: Make sure you've purchased a wi-fi connection (3pounds per day) and save your voucher number to make the connection. You have half an hour free wi-fi just one time, not every day. There's only a little bottle with liquid sopa (shampoo-hand and bodywash altogether) so take shampoo and bodywash with you. You may ask for a hairdryer. Take european adaptors with you because you won't find there. You may though charge your devices in the bathroom.

Absolutely terrible. We had 2 children with us and only had one additional single bed which was a single mattress thrown on the floor in the corner of the room. We will not be back to this Travellodge or any other. By far the worst experience of "budget hotels" I have known.

We went to this hotel as a group of 9 on a hen weekend. We arrived at this hotel at around 12pm and were told to come back and check in at 4ish. We left our cases behind reception at the hotel and headed out for a bit.

We come back and we had 3 rooms next to eachother on the 5th floor. There were 4 of us in one family room which was plenty big enough. There was a double bed which was really comfy and we also had two single beds on the floor. These beds were not so comfy haha!

Bathroom was clean and spacious. Quite similar to a caravan bathroom. The floorboards creaked when you walked and the pressure of the shower was weak..

View from the room was great. Looked on to the castle :)

Hotel is in a great location. Right by Maccies and KFC (perfect hangover cures) and also round the corner from Topshop! Needs to be sign posted better though! I wouldn't of seen it if we didn't know what was near it.

Room Tip: higher floor for better views
