Great hotel with clean BIG rooms. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Good location on the main street and within walking distance to the pubs. Only thing that lets this travel lodge down is it entrance. If your finding it hard to locate this travel lodge just look for the bins and your there. This is my only fault

While the room was basic it was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Room had an excellent view of the Balmoral Hotel and Arthur's Seat. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wasn't expecting much for the price I paid but was surprised overall. Would stay here again.

I booked this hotel online for a fantastic price for central Edinburgh. I stayed with two friends for three nights, midweek. We travelled there by train and the hotel is just opposite the train station and in a very good location on Princes Street for shopping and sightseeing.
On arriving at the hotel we thought we had arrived at the back of the hotel because of all the bins and mess outside. The entrance is on a street at the back of the shops where deliveries are made and the bins are stored which could be a bit off putting, but on entering the hotel the reception was clean and the staff welcoing.
Our room was very large and completely refurbished. The bed was comfortable and the bedding spotless. We had a fantastic view on to Princes Street.
Overall this was probably the best value for money hotel I have stayed in.

Two negative points:
1. I had a room with an overpowering noxious smell of new flooring or sealant that made me feel sick. No other rooms were available to be relocated to.
2. There were tramps sleeping in cardboard beds right outside the hotel, litter everywhere, etc. The dingy alley leading to the hotel entrance needs a clean up.

Good points:
1. Room was clean.
2. Location is central.
3. Good price.

Dear Daniel R, we’re sorry about the poor experience you had in our hotel. We expect our rooms to be fresh and should our housekeeping team notice any unpleasant odours then the room should be aired thoroughly. Our Hotel Manager will be made aware of your concerns so these issues can be addressed and feedback provided to the staff at the hotel.

Friday 4th October 13 just returned from 3 night stay. Hotel just refurbished and rooms very clean and modern as are lifts etc. Room 209 is massive and has views across Princes Street to the castle, cathedral and nub couldn't be more central with Waverley Station and bridge directly across road. Only 2 complaints maid missed our room on second day and the entrance to the hotel is in a dirty seedy little alley lined with exrtra large wheelie bins. Very off putting on arrival and a shame as the hotel is very nice once inside
Very
