We were in Edinburgh for two days as part of a trip to the highlands.
After surprisingly struggling to find a decent restaurant in the center of Edinburgh, we came across Mamma Roma which looked inviting from outside as opposed to the cafe type establishments.
However, once inside we found the staff robotic and not particularly friendly, we were given a cardboard menu, whilst other diners were given leather bound ones.
The choice was limited and a throwback to the 1980's once the food arrived, it was at best average and at worst some of the poorest we had ever eaten, can not understand how some of the reviews on here praise the food so highly!
Living in Manchester we are spoiled by the choice and quality of restaurants in the city, so this was a big disappointment.
To top off the experience the bill was very expensive for one starter, two mains, two desserts and a bottle of wine.
