“COULDN'T FAULT IT”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

We stayed in the PI in Princes Street for 6 nights, then after 3 nights in the hotel where my son's wedding was to be held, we moved back into the PI in Princes Street for a further 2 nights. The staff were great - friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our many requests :). Also great location for sightseeing, 5 mins walk to Edinburgh Waverley train station and Waverley Bridge where city bus tours leave from. Also convenient for numerous restaurants and George Street. Great breakfast for GBP8.25 each, although after 3 days we got fed up with it! Although no room service provided, we were able to go to the restaurant, buy what we wanted and take it back to the room.

The location of the hotel was perfect. We had a wonderful view of Edinburgh castle and the park across the street was beautiful! This hotel is a great starting point for shopping or sightseeing. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good and offered a good variety. We also had dinner there one night and it was also very good. We would definitely stay here again !!

Even in booking the hotel we were able to talk to the staff in Edinburgh to get some local intelligence, this was a great start.

When we arrived at the hotel, the check-in process was automated, simple but we were greeted by the staff who were all smiles and very keen to help us.
The room was fantastic for us as a family of 4 with a wheelchair, had all the room we needed and was clean and tidy. The beds were comfy and we all slept soundly.

We would definitely recommend the breakfast, it was a great selection and the coffee was awesome, the best coffee in Edinburgh all day. Again the staff had a lovely manner and could not do enough to help us. The one chap who helped us to our table told us that he loves the breakfast there too and this was actually a really encouraging thing to hear. He was right too!

I have to admit that our expectations of Premier Inn was low and now I am not sure why that was, they appear to have focused on customer service and this is a winning strategy.

All this, and the cost was incredible, even the breakfast was great value.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel, would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location, although a bit hard to find, no signs outside just one on door, could have got off airport bus at Castle St if I knew exact location or maybe even seen a sign, fair walk from Waverly station with luggage. No street noise even though we were on a main street. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent also and plenty of it, bar was opened til late. plenty of space in room and was very clean. Cash machine and vending machines on premises which were handy for late night snacks. I have stayed in 3 Premier Inn's and if I return to the UK I will definitely use their Hotels again as they are in good locations, friendly staff, spacious and clean rooms

This is the first time we've ever stayed at a Premier Inn and it won't be the last. What a superb find this was. I have to admit to having been every so slightly sceptical of all the fab reviews on here as I've often thought of Premier Inns being rather "downmarket" but never again! From the moment we arrived on Friday evening to the moment we left on Monday morning we had a great stay. The staff are every bit as great as other reviewers have said, friendly, helpful, willing and everything done with a real smile (not a false grin!). They really seem happy to work there and want to make your stay as nice as possible. The rooms were clean and comfortable and although the hotel is right on Princes Street we heard absolutely nothing from our 6th floor room. We didn't have a castle-view room but this wasn't a problem as we only wanted somewhere to sleep. The all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast was excellent value and unlike many hotel buffets not too much was put out at one time so it was always hot and fresh. We ate in the hotel on two nights and again the food was excellent quality and good value for money. We only booked two weeks before our trip so paid nearly £100 per night for the room but as it was a weekend and right in the city centre, opposite the castle then this is to be expected. Fabulous comfortable beds and a great night's sleep. Would recommend!
