Exhausted and hungry from walking for miles around Edinburgh, I spotted this wee gem on The Royal Mile, just up the hill from the Queen's Gallery.
I bought the vegetarian soup - tomato & chickpea - and a spinach and ricotta pastry to take away, then walked down to sit in the sun outside the Scottish Parliament to eat them; they were both home-made & delicious.
The shop front is tiny, (don't know what the sitting area through the back is like) but the cheerful staff dealt with the queue calmly and efficiently. I'll go there again to sit in and try a coffee and one of their locally made cakes next time I'm in that part of town.
