Fantastic stay at a perfect hotel. From check-in to leaving, every member of staff I encountered was excellent, helpful and friendly. The location is great for getting in and out of Edinburgh(£3.40 return) on the train which can be caught 50yds from the hotel. Food was very good in the restaurant and we got a great deal, including breakfast. Great stay all round

This is a very new Premier Inn and rooms provide the usual good standard of accommodation and everything is clean and fresh. However it would have been nice to have had a clock/alarm and glasses for water in the room.
The location is convenient for Edinburgh as it is two minutes walk from the train station where trains run every ten minutes or so into Waverley and the journey only takes a few minutes. It isnt the most scenic location as you are in the edge of a big retail/commercial park and there is little else around. However the location does mean that the accommodation is much cheaper than staying in central Edinburgh.
We were very surprised by the amount of noise from the room above in view of this being a new building. We could hear every footstep and every drawer being opened above us and it was very irritating when you were trying to sleep. The room in the phone did not have instructions on how to ring reception so I had to dress and walk dowstairs to speak to the receptionist. She telephoned the people in the room above but, to be fair, they were not really being that noisy, it was just that the noise really travelled. We did not seek a refund as once the people above us retired there no longer was a problem. However we needed to rise fairly early the next morning and were very aware that we may be causing problems for the people below us as we could hear the floor creaking so had to creep abpot.

Room Tip: Try to go on the top floor.

Me, my husband and 2 year old daughter spent a couple of nights in this hotel and it couldn't have been more perfect. They were so nice and welcoming and always so helpful. They were so good with our daughter and would do anything you wanted. Perfect 2 night stay and would go back in an instant.

Cross with myself here for not remembering to print off directions to this Premier Inn as initially it's not easy to find and as I think other reviewers have commented, Sat Nav will take you in an entirely different direction. This area of Edinburgh Park seems very new and therefore as yet not over-developed so despite the location near the station this PI is pleasantly quiet. Indeed the only noise we suffered was a baby elephant or something stomping around in the room above us from about 11pm till nearly midnight - just how much walking around a room can you do? Not enough to warrant complaining though..so the guarantee was safe! Went on "meal deal" basis so dinner and breakfast covered - no complaints with either. An excellent base if you want to stay out of town but be close enough to experience the tourist trail in Edinburgh - short train ride away for £3 return.

We stayed here for 4 nights and would recommend it to anyone. We also had the issue of the sat nav taking us to the wrong side of the tracks but a phone call to a really helpful lady who stayed on the phone while we drove there and it was easily solved. Nothing was a problem for any of the staff we asked many questions about travel and attractions and they were so helpful. Staff in all areas of the hotel were the same all really eager to help. Only reason I put 4s for some of the scores was due to it not being easy to get to, the bed being very hard (if you have a bad back you might struggle) and even though there were 3 staying in room we always only got 2 towels but as long as we asked we got more. The cleanliness was fantastic and love the fact it had a Costa in the hotel. Railway station is right outside and even though we looked down on it we couldn't hear it at all. Good food too. Would recommend this to anyone.

Problems started with this hotel by my following my satnav to the hotel postcode provided at the time I made the booking. I drove off the city by-pass to find I was at a roundabout with both exits blocked by controlled barriers. After a long conversation with a security guard via the intercom on one of the barriers I was eventually allowed to travel the short distance through the barrier to the hotel. The hotel receptionist was well aware of this problem and said I should have exited the by-pass via a different route. What a pity Premier Inns didn't bother to tell me!

The next problem a day later was that we returned to the hotel in the evening to find that housekeeping had not bothered to service our room. I reported this to the duty manager, who gave us clean towels etc. and said that she would personally ensure that the room was serviced properly the next day. Well it was serviced but in a most perfunctory manner, and the small amount of toilet paper that had been in the room was removed and not replaced. Another complaint to the duty manager!

When we checked out the next day there were two ladies on at reception who were both aware of the problems we had had with housekeeping. They said that a full investigation would take place and I would be advised of the conclusions. This was a month ago, so I assume I will never be advised and the investigation probably never took place.

This hotel has some good points as mentioned by other reviewers. However our stay was spoiled by what I perceive to be poor management.

My wife and I took our 3 kids through for a few days to Edinburgh to visit some of the local attractions...... having come down from the North and a quick visit to Deep Sea World we located the hotel and checked in. Ample parking and a great first impression from outside... all in all a good start. You walk and things get better having stayed in a number of Premier Inn's in the past you can really tell this is a new building - very modern looking and spotlessly clean...... The lady on the front desk was really helpful and friendly.... chatting away to the kids and offering advice on train times etc. When I commented on the cleanliness of the hotel and general feel she said that it was largely in part to their manager Tony who love everything to be perfect and to be honest I can tell. Family room for 5 was set up as requested and their was more than enough room for us all (no. 414) and again it was modern and comfortable for all. We had a quick lunch at the costa which is within the hotel and again this was really nice. After a busy day in Edinburgh we had a really peaceful sleep and then a fantastic breakfast (best prem inn breakfast I have ever had) we also got to meet the manager Tony who helped is set up high chairs etc...... all in all I couldn't have been happier with the trip and the service that we received. Highly recommended for families.....business or just getting away for a few nights. Easy to drive to........buses near by and the train station literally a stone throws away. Great Hotel

Room Tip: room 414 for a large family - we have 3 under 5's and there was plenty of room
