“Decent.”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

I stayed here for a week while on business... It's a nice enough hotel - the rooms are nice and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I did find it slightly odd that I couldn't book a table at the restaurant while it was half empty - I didn't mind as I just went to the bar and had a drink. But when the time came you were squeezed in with the rest of the diners, and the other end of the room was empty. However, the service was excellent and the food was good, but some nights I would have liked a bigger portion. Thankfully some of the desserts are huge so that made up for it well enough!

£3 gets you a return ticket from the train station opposite to the City. Really handy if you like to stay at a quiet location away from the hubbub of town. You don't hear the trains going past at all. Well - I didn't anyway...

All in all a decent hotel and I would recommend it to friends and colleagues.

Bog standard Premier Inn - I don't mean this in a derisory way, I mean it's got great staff, lovely clean rooms and everything else you'd expect from this chain. Handy for public transport being directly outside Edinburgh Park railway station which has 6 trains per hour in/out of Haymarket and Edinburgh Waverley stations. In the other direction you have direct trains to Glasgow, Falkirk and Stirling too. Retail park on the other side of the railway (just go across the station footbridge) includes Tesco, Poundland etc. so getting snacks needn't break the bank either.

Spent a night here on business. Newly built, large free car park, air conditioned rooms (windows don't open though). Usual clean, comfortable room, powerful shower etc.

Restaurant was good. The meal deal (3 courses with a drink, plus breakfast for £22) is very good. No complaints about the food.

Nothing of interest in the immediate location but the railway station is very close.

I stayed here for three nights whilst on a work related course, the rates were very reasonable and I felt that I got great value. The hotel is very clean and still fairly new, the rooms were clean also and had working air conditioning, the wifi was extra but at the price it is forgivable, plus it actually workedand wasnt that expensive. The food was good, standard chain hotel stuff but done well, hot and served quickly, the var area is pleasant and the bar staff brilliant, in fact all the staff were exceptionally helpful and really cheerful. The breakfast was a cut above the average, most buffet breakfasts are tepid but this was hot and had a good selection, the coffee was good also. My room was quiet which can be a problem in hotels but largely down to the other guests rather than they hotel. Really couldnt fault my stay here.

We stayed here on a recent trip to Edinburgh choosing this hotel due to its good price and proximity to Edinburgh. The hotel is clean, staff very friendly a bonus of having the costa there too which is useful. The hotel is next to Edinburgh park train station, we experienced no noise from this in our room. Directions on the booking confirmation for how to get there weren't the best we have seen ended up using satnav to get there despite being less than 2 miles away! Although there is work going on to put the team in which may not have helped. The train into Edinburgh is frequent there in less than 15 mins and its £3.00 return to Waverley. This would have been a five star but for the food served in the restaurant of an evening. Don't get me wrong it was nice enough but very much mass produced warmed up average food. Fab hotel though and a fab location.

What a nice surprise to find this quality in a relatively inexpensive hotel. The bedroom and facilities were excellent and we had the promised "good night" on both the nights we stayed. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly Location is right across from the Edinburgh City station with trains about every 15 minutes to Edinburgh Waverly - well worth it to avoid driving in Edinburgh! Altogether an outstanding experience.

We was very happy with everything in the hotel. We stayed for 7 nights, as my husband is disabled we were really looked after by all the staff in the hotel and the restaurant. This is the fifth Premier Inn we have been in in 6 months and we can't fault any of them. We are going to Stratford on Avon in June looking forward to same treatment
