“Good!”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

Currently staying in this hotel and think it's a really nice, clean hotel and the staff are friendly/helpful. Someone previously mentioned that the train station across the road was too noisey, but I don't think it is at all! Our room is literally opposite the station, and u care barely hear the trains! Well worth the stay if ur visiting edinburgh!

i stayed here on the 15th March room 206 on the 2nd floor, this room was cleaned to a very hight standard , beds were lovely and comfortable , and the young girl who was at the standing in the front desk was superb , she played with our 5 yr old nephew with a premier inn balloons, she also gave us our forks and plated for a delivery of food we ordered from a take away. You get a phone in the room so if theirs anything the staff can do for you just give them a call. i have stayed at many premier inn's but this one was by far the best iv stayed in,

Room Tip: we booked this roo, for £29 , we normally book rooms in the city centre but wanted a west end room b...

Stayed here for two nights on business. Clearly a very new Premier Inn and nicely decorated and clean. Reception staff very friendly as were the restaurant and bar staff.
Edinburgh Park train station across the road so easy to get to and easy to get in and out of the city centre. I had a room facing the train station and I didn't find noise an issue at all. In fact I slept soundly both nights and never woke up due to noise so I wouldn't let the closeness of the train station put you off at all.
The restaurant was very good. I ate there both nights. The first night they did a takeaway so I could eat in my room and the second night I sat in the restaurant. I would say that the pasta I had on the 2nd night was lukewarm but still very tasty, Waitress very attentive.
Room was spacious and clean. Hot powerful shower. Breakfast available from 6.30-10.30 so no rush to get there. All the usual breakfast items you would expect.
There is a lift which some Premier Inns don't have so you don't have to struggle with your suitcase.
All in all, one of the best Premier Inns I've stayed at and I would happily stay here again, and am in a couple of weeks when I'm back here on business!

Recently stayed at the Gyle Premier Inn, Edinburgh for the Wales v Scotland rugby (Wales won 28 – 18). The hotel is very nice and modern, rooms are kept very clean, all the staff were very helpful and would give advice on anything they could. The hotel is very handy for the railway station (Edinburgh Park), which is directly across the road, two stops and you are in the city centre. Breakfast cost £8.00 + each. If you have transport go to Morrisons a couple of minutes away breakfast £4.00 odd each. Tesco is about a 10 minute walk over the railway bridge, the probably have a restaurant there.

Only problem was the restaurant was very cold, the draft coming through the patio doors was like a hurricane. Make sure you have a table as far from the windows as possible. I must add we did stay there through a few snow storms.

The front outside automatic door wouldn’t shut on some occasions, because the snow was blowing on to the outside sensor which didn’t help.

Room Tip: Always ask for a room as high as possible, if there is any noise from a nearby bar or road you will...

Stayed for the Rugby w\e,wales won!As usual prices were inflated for these weekends.Check in procedures are a little informal if you are directed to a machine. What is wrong with a proper reception desk?We were also not asked if we wanted "the meal deal"which would have saved money.
Other comments re location for travel into the city are spot on.It was a very cold weekend and we were not alone in finding the bar and dining areas cold,a separating door between the foyer and these areas would probably solve this. There was also no "cask(proper)beer" and no chance of an extension to bar hours,Rugby Fans are not people who cause trouble but we do like to continue to socialise for a reasonable amount of time.
These sound like a list of complaints, they are not but are merely comments. We enjoyed our stay and would hope to stay again.

Room Tip: Top floor was excellent.

I stayed here for one night before transferring to the Novotel nearby. However... having stayed in the Novotel, I would have preferred to have stayed here.

Plus points: This Premier Inn was quiet, clean, had very friendly staff, free wi-fi for 30 minutes a day (then comparatively cheap after that). The restaurant felt cosy, breakfast was good and bar prices were reasonable. Room cost was £20/night cheaper than the Novotel.

The Edinburgh park rail station just over the road takes you into the centre of Edinburgh in under 10 minutes for £2.40 return, or there are 2-3 buses that run to the nearby shopping centre and/or into the town centre. Airport bus drops you 5-minutes walk away, for a quarter of the taxi price.

Minus points: The automatic check-in machines for after hours use (which I didn't use) and very tiny receipts (easy for business folk to misplace!). Breakfast, though fine, was nothing special - I would have expected a few Scottish items (e.g potato scones, "square slice" sausage, etc). No extras - e.g. the Novatel along the road has a swimming pool and sauna.

Bottom line: if I have to stay in this area again for business, I will probably book into the Premier Inn. Swimming pools are fun, but on business trips I just want peace and quiet, internet access (preferably free!) and good travel to/from the hotel. This hotel has all that.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Made all welcome and feel liek nothing was too much trouble. Railway is next door- but wasn't distrubed by any noise, easy to jump on one of the many trains into City centre cost £3 return and 6minutes- ideal for Murrayfield. Clean and warm. Although our bedroom felt cold- still there was a blizzard outside.
Would certainly stay here again.
