Recently stayed at the Gyle Premier Inn, Edinburgh for the Wales v Scotland rugby (Wales won 28 – 18). The hotel is very nice and modern, rooms are kept very clean, all the staff were very helpful and would give advice on anything they could. The hotel is very handy for the railway station (Edinburgh Park), which is directly across the road, two stops and you are in the city centre. Breakfast cost £8.00 + each. If you have transport go to Morrisons a couple of minutes away breakfast £4.00 odd each. Tesco is about a 10 minute walk over the railway bridge, the probably have a restaurant there.
Only problem was the restaurant was very cold, the draft coming through the patio doors was like a hurricane. Make sure you have a table as far from the windows as possible. I must add we did stay there through a few snow storms.
The front outside automatic door wouldn’t shut on some occasions, because the snow was blowing on to the outside sensor which didn’t help.
