Premier Inn Edinburgh Park (The Gyle) Hotel
Ranked #33 of 150 Hotels in Edinburgh
Certificate of Excellence

This was our first stay at this particular Premier Inn and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is brand new, and the room was spotlessly clean. (apart from unknown 'splashes' up the wall beside the toilet - not the norm from a Premier Inn). That aside, the room comfy and had everything we needed for our overnight stay, the beds and pillows are so comfortable in the Premier Inns, I never want to get up! The Hotel is in a business park so there is nothing nearby apart from the train station which takes you into the centre of Edinburgh in less than 10 minutes, very handy if you are on holiday but don't want to pay city centre hotel prices. We used the restaurant which is attached, we thought the food was ok, apart from my partner's steak which was a dreadful piece of meat, we did mention it to the waitress who said 'oh dear'! Apart from the food, we really enjoyed our short stay and will most definitely be going back. The hotel seemed quite busy but we never heard a single noise during our stay, not a train or a door shut, if we didn't know better we could have been the only ones there.

Excellent location. Free parking, thirty. Seconds to the train station to the city. Hotel is clean with excellent facilities and friendly staff. Will use again, and would highly recommend. However, the hotel is hard to reach and the sat nav did not recognise the post code!

Room Tip: Don't trust a sat nav. His hotel is very difficult to find!

Our stay in the Premier Inn was fantastic from check in right through to check out. We decided to come to Edinburgh for a couple of nights and thought we would try this new Premier Inn because it was located right next to Edinburgh Park train station and would save us having to worry about driving in town especially with all the tram works. There were trains to Edinburgh Waverly about every 10mins and it was only £2.80 return. The girl on reception was very nice and helpful and all the staff couldn't have been any more pleasant. We prebooked breakfast which was excellent! Our bedroom was lovely, clean and modern. The hotel was fully booked on the first night but we heard no noise from inside or outside the hotel. Even being next a busy train line, you could not hear the trains - they must have excellent sound proofing! There was also a costa coffee shop in the hotel which was nice to get a coffee for the way into town. The bar was also very reasonably priced at £2.80 for a pint of larger. Next time we come to Edinburgh we will definitely be staying at this hotel! Very happy at the price of £38 a night. :-).

Clean , comfortable and could not have been nearer the railway station into Edinburgh. I am very noise sensitive and although our room looked out over the train station, I was only aware of the high speed trains that came through occasionally - and that is being very picky.
Directions were fine - there were road works when we stayed there but we found it quite easily.
We ate there one night and had good meal - breakfast is very good and veggie sausages some of the best. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.
Will stay there again

Booked this hotel after reading the many positive reviews and we were not disappointed. So much better to stay here and travel into the city centre by train. The station being located right next to hotel although we couldn't hear any train noise. For 7 of us it cost £11.20 return (4 adults, 3 children). You can keep the tickets and use for children to get free entrance into the zoo and dungeons. The journey into Edinburgh took 9 minutes. This was less hassle than driving around a busy city centre, trying to find parking and having to pay expensive parking fees.

We arrived almost an hour early but were able to check in as our room was ready, our friends room wasn't, but they allocated them a new room to save them waiting about.
The rooms were spotless, we had a family room which had 2 single beds and one king size. There was still plenty of room to walk about. The all you can eat breakfast was great value for money. Fresh, tasty and plentiful! The staff were so friendly and helpful. All in all a great first experience of Edinburgh and one I wish to repeat soon. We all agreed it was the perfect choice and will definitely stay here again. We bought the 2 day Royal Edinburgh ticket which got us into the castle, Palace of Holyrood house and aboard the Royal yacht Britannia aswell as giving us 2 days unlimited travel on 5 different tour buses- and no queuing...fast tracked straight in!!

We first discovered Premier inns earlier this year & this one did not disappoint us. Clean, comfortable, quiet, close to transport. The other reviews have pretty well covered everything, however the bedroom windows do not open & neither are there window vents to open (is this in breach of building regs I wonder?). Also Premier need to get their act together over providing gluten free food. The dessert menu is particularly limiting in choice if one can't eat gluten. However we would definitely use again.Friendly helpful staff, you don't need to self check in there is always someone there.

This wasn't my first choice hotel .... But I've found a real gem!. The surrounding area is short of bars, restaurants, etc but the food and bar is absolutely fine. When staying this side of Edinburgh this will now be my first choice.
