I booked these appartments based on previous reviews, however was disappointed with our stay. The bed was what I would class as below average for comfort, and our appartment suffered from alot of noise from a neighbouring appartment. I think it was a hen party by the sound of it. The appartment had obviousy had a heavy smoker as the previous guest as the smell of stale smoke was evident throughout my two night stay. That is itself is enough for me to not repeat my stay here.

The kitchen was well equipped and the basket of breakfast food is well stocked, albeit a little expensive for what it is. Also there is a Tesco store basically on the doorstep which is very handy.

I gave up attempting to connect to the wifi after about an hour. The staff seemed friendly enough and have no complaints there although they could not help with the Wifi issue.

One final word of warning is that if you drive a large car you may find parking in the designated car park difficult. I drive a Range Rover Sport and the spaces / access were very tricky to get in and out of. Would be ideal if everyone drove a Fiesta.

I am surprised at the title of this review of given that it contains mostly positive comments apart from a few elements mostly out of our control. I would urge all guests to highlight at the time any details, no matter how small, that may marr their enjoyment of their time with us and we will do our best to put it right at the time. If other guests are being too loud, simply let us know and we will go and speak with them. If you are having trouble parking your car, let me do it for you!

My mother and I stayed here on our only day in Edinburgh on our UK trip. We were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic and convenient location to the Castle (our main Edinburgh must-do) and the apartment being so reasonable for what you get so close in.
After a few weeks on the road sharing a room at B&Bs and Premier Inns, it was really nice to be able to stretch out in a two bedroom apartment, be able to cook for ourselves and wash our clothes (though the washer/dryer was a bit complicated for us Aussies only used to top-loaders). We arrived a bit before check-in time and were allowed to leave our car underneath in the car park while we went sightseeing - a huge bonus not having to find another parking spot. The reception staff were very helpful and courteous. Everything was provided in the apartment, even washing powder. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was good. We have no complaints whatsoever, other than its a bit confusing where is ok to drive up to, to check in. Maybe we luckily struct a quiet evening, as it was noiseless inside the building and out.
To everyone who comments on the ordinary appearance of the hotel or the views of other buildings from the apartment windows, may I suggest that you stay outside of the city?

A fantastic review from one of wonderful Aussie guests and they have really hit the nail on the head regarding what you can expect from the Holyrood Aparthotel. Many thanks for taking the time to detail the highpoints of your stay and we hope you will venture over to Scotland again one day!

We visited arrived here in the beginning of March - The Aparthotel is located at the top of Royal Mile - ideal location for sight seeing - there are some restaurants/cafas near the hotel. There is a tesco like 100 metres away - so really useful. Aurturs seat (Holyrood park) is like 5 minutes by walk (just behind the hotel). Edinburgh castle is like 15-20 minutes walk.

The aparthotel is spacious and very clean - we were staying on the 5th floor - we had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the rooms had an electronic safe. The kitchen was equipped with everything - utentils, microwave, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, fairly liquid..etc.

Staff - were polite - But didnt really need to ask them many questions as Edinburgh is quite small so we could easily make our way around. There are many leaflets and maps near reception. The lobby is small but there is a computer that you can use.

By taxi it will only take about 30 minutes to reach this hotel - average cost £20. You can easily catch a taxi around the city as there are many taxis driving around.

I would def recommend this hotel if you are coming to Edinburgh - it really is a 4*

Room Tip: Rooms at the top floor are better - as you will not hear floor boards creeking

Really helpful staff, they managed to swap our apartment in an attempt to get better wifi reception. Our kids are small and safe place for them to sleep- no need to remove stuff from their room. Will stay here again truly great location for getting about!

Easily the best experiences while visiting UK. Traveled during mid April 2012, the apartment had 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms (1 attached). We had taken the apartment with 1 twin bed and 1 queen bed rooms and were very comfortable. The apart comes with a full fledged kitchen, a TV, DVD player, dining table, sofa set and they gave us complimentary breakfast on the first day. The rooms were very clean and quite spacious. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed thoroughly
We were glad we took this apartment.
It is very walk able from the train station and close to all the attractions. The hop off hop on bus stand is just outside this hotel.
The hotel staff were also very courteous and they have free computer with internet at the lobby.
All in all the best place to stay at Edinburgh, Scotland.
