10.30am twice a week (Tue and Sat) £12.50 (concessions available) for a one hour tour all over the building led by one of the staff who was informative and friendly. There’s quite a bit of climbing up and down narrow stairs. The guide did make the point that the tour is best taken when they have a current show – else the dressing rooms, stage, back stage etc are all empty. See their website for a good illustrated history of the building which claims to be the ‘biggest’ theatre in the UK – 3,000 seats but actually other theatres have a bigger stage but less seats
