“so much to see!”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

Over all there is something for everyone..It's free and you and your family can easily pass an entire rainy afternoon including having lucng in one of the two ( maybe three?) places to eat.
The museum is very interactive.. clean and beautiful and easy to find on foot.

“Ahuge museaum with loads to see and do...all FREE”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

Ive been to Edinburgh a number of times and have never been here before. The museum has loads going on and a brilliant 'hands on' science area to amuse children and adults alike. There is a vast amount of exhibits to suit all the family....and the best part is that its all free.
We fell upon it and had a couple of hours to kill so went in. After 2 hours we still hadnt seen/done everthing and had to leave before the parking ran out! We will definately be back.
The whole building is clean and airy with friendly staff to give information. The coffee shop has good coffee and lovely cakes amongst other things and prices are reasonable. But, it alos offers an area for people with picnics so families can keep the cost down

“izzy/bazz Edinburgh”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

what a delight to be able to acsess the National Museum for FREE!!! WHAT A TREAT, The guide was friendly, knew her stuff and was happy to answer all questions. Asking for a donation was acceptable as after seeing all this art on display for free made us show our appreciation as we left, who could not be impressed!!!!!!!!!!

“Food at the museum”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

The museum is fine! But do not eat at the cafe in the basement, though the place is clean and staff attentive the meal we had the other day was dreadful!
