“Wonderful Museum for everyone!”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

We did a free tasters 1 hr tour. Great way to see some highlights of each gallery and went back to see items in depth that caught our children's eyes. There is really so much to see under one roof! Great place to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day. Must see for an Edinburgh tourist!

“amazing collection”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

A huge collection, well curated. We seem to find something new every visit.
Gets very very busy (and noisy) at the weekends though, and the catering is now over-priced.

“The best museum anywhere...ever”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Visited the mueum over Christmas while staying in Edinburgh and had a great time. You get lost easily... but that isn't important at all as every turn brings something new.The building is superb and the freedom to allow young children to roam, run about and learn is heartening... few msueums have this feeling of life and of people actually enjoying their visit.

We used to bring our children here 35 years ago when we visited Edinburgh and they enjoyed it then; the exhibits and layout may have changed, but the concept of an indoor learning zone-come-playpark for youngsters hasn't. Fantasic place for an hour or several.
