Stayed here for four nights. Excellent friendly staff. Lovely small hotel, very calm and relaxed atmosphere. The receptionist from Canada (I think) was very helpful and young guy who brought bags to room and showed us around. Also ate in the bar/ restaurant and it was delicious, with a friendly attentive young barman who served us our food. We booked a small double but it was perfect, lovely hot shower and bed was too comfortable!! Flat-screen television on the wall too. Although there were roadworks outside we slept so well and the hotel was very quiet at night in general.
We could reach everything by walking - the castle, shops, museums, Arthur's seat, the palace etc.
I would recommend eating away from the old town in general WAY more expensive. Lovely places to eat on Rose Street (we ate in the Mexican). As mentioned, also the hotel has lovely food at a reasonable price.
Really enjoyed all about Edinburgh!More
