This is a wonderful place to stay with a few little glitches. They weren't ready for me when I arrived for checking. I stowed my bag and left to explore for awhile. When I was finally checked in, I discovered that the elevator wasn't working. No big deal except that I was on the 4th floor. After a long day of walking around, that's annoying. Hopefully, it's since been repaired. My room was wonderful! Lovely mattress, glorious pillows and linens. It was hard to get myself out of the bed int he morning. A stellar view of the castle and a church. Warm and cozy. Nice TV, nice bathroom. It also included a real corded hairdryer. Breakfast was nice and filling.

The checkout was scary because I needed to catch a train and wasn't informed that the front desk is closed until a certain time in the morning. It all worked out, but that really should be emphasized on check in.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Make sure the elevator is working before staying on a high floor.

Hi Guest - we are really pleased that you found us to be a good base for your exploration of the city - there is lots to see in Edinburgh! The top rooms do boast an amazing view of the castle and city. Sorry the lift was out of service - I hope we were able to help you with your luggage. We would love to welcome you back.

I really did love this hotel it was just beautiful, the room was spacious and well decorated. The library with tea/coffee and biscuits was just perfect and the staff were great! But as with all hotels we have stayed in this week it was uncomfortably hot in our room. We are from Australia so are used to warm weather though we are also used to air conditioning or at the very least a fan, air flow through the room was non existent so had to leave the door open for a while, then used a wet towel to try and cool down, made for a very long night. I understand this is not normal weather, though we were here last year around June and there was a "heat wave" on then too. But not to linger too long on this the hotel is fantastic and i recommend it, hopefully they can invest in some fans for those few weeks in the year when it gets unbearable :).

Hi Guests - thanks so much for the feedback. It is such a shame we didnt know how hot you felt the room to be - the Team have fans and would have popped one in the room with no trouble. Perhaps re-visit and we aim to make your stay with us truly wonderful. Thanks again and hope the rest of your UK travels are fun.

What a lovely surprise. This B&B is more like a luxury hotel. The rooms are large and well lit. The bathroom has a shower and all modern conveniences. The bed is large and comfortable and we had a two seater lounge in addition to a comfy chair and desk facility. Views of Edinburgh from both sides of the building were stunning. The lift is small but fast. The breakfast room is wonderful and the selection of food ample. The staff are really helpful and attentive and respond to requests with professionalism. There is a lounge are that has to be seen to be believed. The room is lined with floor to ceiling bookcases and is opulent. There is also a facility for computer and printer access and coffee and tea on tap. The B&B is within walking distance of the city - although a taxi is quicker. We went for a walk one night and realised next day just how close we had been to the city. Our three days here were just fabulous and we felt very pleased to have chosen this lovely B&B.

Room Tip: If you like the view of the city pick the front rooms. If you prefer a quieter stay, ask for the bac...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review. Our location on the edge of the West End Village is fantastic if you don't even want to venture into town - really great neighbourhood eateries and bars and lovely parks and boutiques to explore...! Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Hi madmagic and family. Thank you so much for your review. We are thrilled you have enjoyed B+B Edinburgh - the family rooms are fab and I hope the children explored the Library and hidden staircases! The West End Village boasts some super independent bars and eateries and as you have seen , George Street and the Town Centre are within walking distance if you require more choice. If you are on your travels, consider B+B Belgravi and Weymouth - both amazing!

Every thing about this hotel is excellent! Let's run down the list, shall we?

Cappucinos on demand - check.
Awesome common areas - check.
Delicious breakfast - check.
Super-comfortable huge rooms - check.
Heated towel rack in the wash room - check.
Fast wi-fi - check.
Kid friendly - check.
Great staff - check.
Great location - check.

Did I mention they have a cappucino maker?

As near as I can tell, the only thing this place appears to lack is turrets and walls on a windswept cliff. The good news is, it's within a 10 minute walk.

We stayed here our last night in Edinburgh before an early morning flight. It's located in a more residential area in The West End, but still only a 5-10 minute walk to George Street and other attractions. Earlier in our trip, we stayed somewhere right next the castle, and now regret not staying here for all of our nights spent in Edinburgh (we traveled around after our initial 2 night stay and came back at the end for our flight) this hotel is so beautiful. It's a gorgeous old mansion with stunning details. There is a beautiful library, bar area, breakfast area, and terrace. It feels very informal and personal when you walk in. You can definitely tell its privately owned. Our room was great with amazing views of Edinburgh being on the 6th floor. While its very old with lots of character, it has a clean, modern feel with the decor and updates. For the price, I would hands down recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Request 6 floor room

Very good place, clean, new and with very good breakfast. Compared to the expensive prices in Edinburgh this is a very good option to stay for a reasonable price. It is located in the new part of Edinburgh, and you have to walk to the touristic places but its not a long walk maybe 15 minutes to most places. The room I stayed in was small but very clean and with new furniture. It had everything you need and comfortable bed. Also the building is beautiful and the staff very attentive. It has an elevator so not a problem if you are traveling with heavy bags like I was.
