The interior photo and one of the exterior photos are actually of St Mary's Catholic Cathedral, which is almost opposite.

One of the Architectural delights in the Broughton St end of York Place this victorian confection with Gothic octagonal Towers stands out . A highly active church with a pro active congregation with Marriage counselling , children and youth from tots to late teens . The church is Episcopalian. The building was built in 1818 by Archibald Elliot with a sanctuary added in 1892

The lovely facade is delightful with its castellated-like features. It has wonderful stonework that looked exceptional against the early morning light.

The grand design of the windows is impressive. The soaring frontage is most imposing.

I could say with confidence that Edinburgh as a city of Britain must have more good classic architecture per square kilometre than any other, maybe it wasn't bombed as much as London or Birmingham in the 40's or something, it just seems to have that classic look more so than other British cities.
So with that thought standing a top of Calton hill and looking down over this classic vista that is the panorama of the fine city of Edinburgh, St Paul's and St George's Church, which is pretty close to the bottom of the hill, completes the view and seem to blend in with the ambiance of the fine city.

This is a beautiful church building, inside and out. The inside of the Church has recently been renovated and modernised, allowing for a huge capacity of people to attend the Church services. Outside the building is very ornate and beautiful, well worth a picture.
