“Comfortable, central and private and good value”

Royal Mile, North Bridge Location and Close to the Grassmarket.

The apartments were ideal for central Edinburgh located on North Bridge only 30 metres for the High Street (Royal Mile) it has excellent access to al the major sites and is comfortably furnished with amongst other things a washer dryer. The accommodation was basically a small flat with a double bedroom, lounge and kitchen with all the necessary facilities. I will certainly look to stay there again the next time I stay over in Edinburgh

Our apartment was really small, particularly the bedroom - the bed barely fitted, and the partition wall had been put in diagonally, the bed itself against the wall, so that the person on that side of the bed couldn't get out without clambering over - not enough space at the bottom of the bed to walk around.

We have previously stayed in aparthotels in Edinburgh, where all the apartments are in one block together, and they are serviced daily. However, this wasn't the case here. In the aparthotels, we were left cereals, fruitjuices, etc so we could make ourselves breakfast every morning; the apartments were also cleaned and sheets/towels changed every day. That doesn't apply here, though we were told as we were leaving that it would have been available on request - I don't know if any additional charge would have applied though. Although the location was great, just off the central part of the Royal Mile, the building itself was quite dingy, and there was a smell of damp within the apartment.

We told the company that we would be arriving in Edinburgh at 12.30, however when we were taken round to the apartment for 1pm it was still being cleaned and we had to make ourselves scarce for an hour while this was completed. This is fine, but on the day we left there was a knock on the door at 10am on the dot to service the apartment for the next users, and the person could not wait half an hour while we completed our packing and took our leave.

We only saw SECA staff at the beginning and end of our stay, but they were very friendly and helpful. However, overall we did not feel this was good value for the money we paid.

Hello David,

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you felt that your bedroom was too small. We provide a 24 hour concierge number which guests can call if they have any issues, if you had called us at the time it may have been possible to move you to another apartment.

The following information is clearly displayed on our website, all our 3rd party booking sites and in the booking confirmation that we send out to all our guests prior to arrival.

http://www.stayedinburghcity.co.uk/guest-information/

Housekeeping
"The rooms are not serviced/cleaned every day but we will offer fresh towels, bed linen and cleaning half way through a stay if a guest is staying for 6 or more nights. Additional cooking, cleaning and washing are done by the guest at their own leisure in the comfort of their own apartment. Rooms are fully serviced by our housekeeping team before guests arrive; if extra/daily cleaning is required or requested we can arrange this where possible."

Check In
"All our apartments are all clean and ready for 15:00 on the day of your arrival. We can check you in any time after 10:00 as long as we know what time you will be arriving. We can then take you up to your apartment where you can drop your bags off and we can give you the keys. You can then go off and begin to explore Edinburgh while your apartment is being cleaned. All that we ask is that you reply to the booking confirmation with your expected arrival time."

Check Out
"Check-out time is at 10:00. It may be possible to offer a late check out at a cost of £20 per hour. The latest check out time we can offer is 13:00. Please note it is not always possible to let guests check out late. If you would like to inquire about the possibility of a late check out please ask us when you arrive, unfortunately we are not able to arrange this in advance."

If you would like to come and stay with us in the future I can make sure you are allocated to one of our more spacious one bedroom apartments in the Lawnmarket area.

Kind Regards,

Chris

A group of 11 of us stayed in the 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment on the 3rd floor. The apartment is in a brilliant location right on the Royal Mile, so you couldn't ask for better really. There is a Starbucks, Subway sandwich shop, fish and chip shop amongst other things in the neighbouring buildings.
The apartment is very nice, modern and spacious enough and has everything you would need for a stay.
We had a couple of small problems on arrival such as one bathroom sink not having running water and the radiator being on full blast and we weren't able to turn it down or off, but these were fixed when we went over to report them.
I would recommend this apartment for a stay in Edinburgh, the only main drawback a few of us had was with the biggest bedroom at the front of the property looking out on to the royal mile, if you will be sleeping in there and are not a heavy sleeper, bring ear plugs! We were kept awake a bit in the early hours by people in the street on their nights out, and also seagulls that made quite a bit of noise around 5am. It was almost like the window was open even though it wasn't, so the windows must be quite thin.
Overall a great place to stay.

We booked a last minute trip to Edinburgh through lastminute.com. After reading the website and reviews we were looking forward to the "5 Star" experience. We stayed in the apartment located above the offices on High Street. The entrance to the apartment was through a run down stairwell with broken windows and in need of a lick of paint. The apartment was a long way from being 5 star and definitely in need of a little TLC. Starting with the bathroom the bin was damaged and there was a large crack in the sink and the tile grout around the shower had turned black. The kitchen was nice and clean apart from the kettle which was rusty inside, we boiled water in a pan to make tea. The living room was a little shabby with wall/window marks touched up with non matching paint. there were stains on the sofa and the window ledges had not been cleaned for a while with lots of dust in the corners. The bedrooms were the best part of the apartment and albeit in need of a freshen up the bedlinen and was very clean and crisp. Be warned if you are staying in the bedroom facing the street it is very noisy until the early hours with no second glazing on the windows. Overall we enjoyed the visit but I would stress that the apartment we rented was not 5 star and would recommend to people booking the apartments that they check which apartment they are being given and request one which match the photos!

From the seemingly vast choices of Apartment hotels we chose the apartments down from Old Tollbooth Wynd as they were set back a sufficient distance from the mayhem of the Royal Mile at festival time.
We were all suitably impressed with the cleanliness and room décor and definitely recommend these apartments for anybody wishing to stay as a larger group especially during festival time, spreading the cost is recommended during this time.

We booked quite late in the day for a two day trip to the Edinburgh Fringe. Perfectly located on the Royal Mile, we were lucky enough to be allocated the penthouse at the top of the block - a bit of a trek up the windy (atmospheric) stairway but well worth it! Brilliant views and the accommodation was spacious and contained everything we needed. Despite the hubub from the nightlife being in full swing we didn't hear a peep at night as the penthouse bedroom is situated away from any noise filtering through and surprisingly peaceful. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful (especially late at night when we had to call to check the code for the door!). Would definitely use again and recommend to anyone staying in Edinburgh for the fringe or at anytime.

We visited earlier in August as two families. We had booked the 4 bedroom/3bathroom apartment, but were pleased to discover we'd been given the larger 4bedroom/4 bathroom apartment. We thought that getting to the apartment would be a logistical nightmare with two families, lots of luggage and the inevitable 'street closures' for the Fringe Festival...but we needn't have worried. Chris, the assistant manager, was more than happy to meet our cars and help the 'ladies & children' up to the apartment with the luggage, while we gents parked the cars at the nearby Blackfriars car-park (easy pedestrian access to the car park via Radisson Hotel reception). You are a STAR Chris - very kind and helpful.

The apartment was in a perfect location to enjoy the old town during the festival...looking down on the Royal Mile just up from Cockburn Street. The company has a few apartments and they all appear to be in the vicinity of the Royal Mile.

Be prepared for a lot of stairs as the apartment we had was on the third floor and understandably no lifts in such old historic buildings.

The apartment was well appointed and very clean, but just a wee bit tired decor wise. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms comfortable.

I would recommend this for a short city break with a group of friends...especially if you get an apartment like ours that could sleep 16!

Looking forward to booking again.
