I must say that it was a really disappointing experience.
My husband had bought a voucher as a pampering treat for myself and my mother in law, and we'd been looking forward to this since Christmas.
From the second we walked through the door the receptionist was rude and informed us we were late. Admittedly it was 12.04, our appointment was at 12.00. But being instantly told off wasn't a good first impression.
Things only got worse.
Our infrared sauna time was cut short. The relaxation room was cold (even under a blanket), the music varied between being too loud for a conversation and then there was none and we could hear squeaky building work. But the worst part of the experience was the afternoon tea. My mother in law is allergic to eggs and although we mentioned this at arrival (there was no prompt to mention this on the small print or point of booking) there was only 1 sandwich that she could eat.
I really do not like leaving such negative feedback, but please don't waste your money here as there are many many more spas in Edinburgh with better staff and facilities.

On my visit to Edinburgh I booked into Pure for a back massage and the use of the infra-red sauna.
The receptionist was very welcoming and told me all about my treatment and where I had to change, etc.
My therapist was Jackie and she did an amazing job, adding in a scalp massage to relax me even more and checking the pressure was okay for me.
I thoroughly enjoyed my treatment and will be returning to Pure when I am back in Edinburgh!

I also notice that your TripAdvisor profile says you're from Aberdeen. We also have a location at Union Square shopping centre, so you don't need to travel all the way to Edinburgh for a wee treat!
I was given a voucher for Christmas and used it today for an Indian head massage. The whole experience was excellent. Everywhere was clean, tidy and relaxing. The staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. I couldn't fault any part of it and will definitely return.

I was so disappointed with my visit to Pur Spa Ocean Terminal Leith yesterday, 2 July. What a let down!
I had booked a Complete Indulgence Full Spa Day for two people. We arrived at 10.50am for our 11.00am appointment and we had to wait until 11.30am for our sauna session without any explanation as to why there was a 30 minute wait. Sauna session finished at 12.00 but we then had to wait until 12.30 for our massage, again without anyone explaining why there was such a wait. The therapists were both very good and professional and completed the massages by 2 pm.
We were given lunch, nice sandwiches from Marks and Spencers but then again waited for over an hour and a half until we spoke to the receptionist at 3.45pm. The explanation was: 1) the therapists were busy; and 2) the time waiting was to be used for relaxation. After one hour and forty-five minutes we felt comatose and entirely bored and frustrated. We decided to miss out on our Advanced Anti Ageing facial as we felt we had aged enough already waiting for it and the Pure Manicure would have taken us to late night shopping time. We paid for the treatments we had, which came to £218 for an experience where the waiting time far outlasted the treatment time.
Only on arriving home did I check with Tripadvisor which on 15 April 2013 a client had exactly the same complaint of waiting around.The receptionist said the manager was unavailable so we left after exactly 4 hours at 3.50pm.
On a housekeeping note: the floor of the toilet needed a clean; the rubbish bin pedal was broken; and, the bin was full as if it had not been emptied from the day before. The cup which I was given for tea had a chip in it and the milk was served from a 2 litre carton of milk. Could a milk jug not have been provided? All in all, it was a very expensive and total waste of a day.

I have been here a few times. The last time was on a present from boyfriend for facial, massage, manicure and pedicure. I spent the same amount of time waiting around that day that I did having treatments. The relaxation room was freezing and even though they said they were really busy, there were more staff there than clients. It was just generally unfriendly and quite unprofessional and the massage was actually 10 minutes of gentle shoulder and neck rubbing.

Changing area was extremely dirty - floors looked filthy
Showers awful - mouldy inside and door had a layer of dirt on it. Temp control was broken off shower so didn't know which was hot and which cold just about burned my arm.
Toilet had broken handle.
Relaxation suite had dirty cups and glasses lying!
Treatments were adequate.
Overall place looked like needed good clean - disappointing! Not the spa experience I was after.
