Amazing eating experience! Can't wait for my next visit. My wife unknowingly dropped her driving licence on leaving our table but the manager very quickly returned it to her before we had reached the door. Thank you again and keep up the good work all at Ghurka Cafe!

Just had a group-on deal at the weekend for the Gurkha Cafe in Edinburgh and was very very happy with the food. The staff were great and friendly and the service was quick. Food was fresh and excellently presented with vibrant colours and flavours, i wanted to experience the nepalese food culture and i certainly got what i wanted. Excellent pakora starter followed by a local methi main dish with pilau rice and naan to boot.

In short best Gurkha curry house ive tried by far, well worth a go!!!!!

So we visited Gurkha early on a weekday evening and were surprised to see it already quite full. We were greeted by the incredibly kind and friendly wait staff and seated in the main room which seems to be decorated as a mountain hut complete with pictures of the magical kingdom of Nepal.

The menu is extensive with both curry dishes and a wide selection of grilled meats from the clay oven. Of special note were a number of interesting appetizers including a Nepalese dumpling and a tangy potato cake. The mains were all well spiced (not too hot) and accompanied with fresh nan breads. The chef came to visit all of us half way through the evening to check that everything was all right. We ended with a warm gulab jamun - seriously delicious - but nothing compared to the warm hospitality. We’ll be back.

Being a curry lover I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the Nepalese factor made the dishes something different from the norm. Starter platter was incredible. All dishes were well presented and full of flavour. This place deserves to be busy every night, give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Thought we would give the Gurkha Cafe a try after finding it online after a ruuger game. Booked in advance, nice seats although in light of the busy establishment the door open at times caused some coldness.
The food was good, service to match although sometimes slightly too much, too many cooks if you follow..........
Prices ok, wine nice, setting also so would go back. Fun feel about the place which may have been cause the Welsh were in town or too much liquor.................lol
