Very nice and helpful staff. I was provided with a clean white bedclothes. The whole hostel is cleaned every day so showers and toilets are at very good conditions. Haggies provide you with a free internet access on 2 PCs. Breakfast free every day but you have to mind the price. i would recommend this HAGGIES HOSTELS to everyone.

I chose this hostel primarily for its closeness to the bus station. And the location is great, close to the old town and everything. However, the 60+ steps were a bit of a challenge with a 20+kg suitcase and truth to be told, I was quite disappointed at the hostel itself. Maybe I expected too much based on the price and the reviews, but compared to the other hostels I stayed at in Scotland, the room was extremely small with absolutely no space to put anything, the showers were being cleaned at 7.30am when you know people would want to take a shower, wifi was not free, kitchen-dining room was crammed so that when there were more than 5 people in it it was already crowded and last but not least, the hostel had absolutely no character. The employees were not very welcoming or helpful with advice and there was nothing going on in the hostel like people getting to know each other or chatting.

First time to stay in a hostel since I used to stay in hotels during previous overseas visits. The hostel is clean with friendly, helpful and energetic staff. I have stayed 2 nights in a room for 4 females and on the lower bed of the double-decked beds. Bed is clean and comfortable except the height between upper deck was a bit short. You cannot sit up and have to lay down when you are on bed. Don't worry, you can stay in the common room or kitchen for more comfort sitting or even enjoy TV programmes. Free PC provided and you can surf without a cost. Socket provided on each bed and you can play your smartphone before sleep, very convenient but make you sleep less!
Self helped kitchen is well equipped with utensils and even basic stuff for seasoning. Clean and tidy with breakfast provided.
However the hostel was located on 5/F or 6/F(?) with no lift and if you have a large handrail luggage you will be very exhausted like me! Make sure you have a brief luggage if you stay there.

Room Tip: get a locker which cost 2 pounds a day so that you can store your stuff when you are not in the room...

Clean, friendly, amazing location - 10 seconds walk off Princes Street, great little cafe round the corner and next to a nice pub! Cheap and cheerful, highly recommended. I'll stay here again the next time I'm in Edinburgh.

I stayed at Haggis twice during my trip to Scotland, both times the beds were very comfortable and there are really handy international power sockets above each bed - so you don't have to worry about using an adapter, just plug straight in. My first stay the room was very spacious, the second time the room was probably too small for the number of bunks, but still very comfy so it wasn't too bad.

Bathrooms were very well maintained and the showers were nice and strong.

The staff were all very friendly and attentive.

Breakfast is included and is the normal hostel fare - toast, crossiants, coffee, tea, etc.

The hostel itself is located 5 minutes walk to Waverley Train Station and the Bus Station too.

One thing to be aware of are the stairs. To get into the hostel you have to hike up several long flights. You get a good workout by the time you reach the top!
