We thought this was one of the nicest Wetherspoon pubs we'd visited. The food was tasty and hot, with good portions. The building itself is very attractive, and the walls are lined with pictures of Edinburgh's famous sons - Robert Louis Stevenson, Alexander Bell etc. which we found interesting. The restaurant is only a couple of minutes' walk from Princes Street, so very well situated for a quick, inexpensive meal not far from the shops. We'd go again.

We visited twice as the hotel we were staying in was a bit expensive for breakfast. We had an excellent experience on both times with the food being of good quality, the staff being efficent and very pleasant. Being early in the day we found the place to be clean and tidy. Would certainly use again

I think Wetherspoons are slowly taking over the world!!!! Friends arranged to meet here and we were disappointed in the choice for a night out and boy were we right! The decor is nice for a chain but needs a really good clean-sticky tables even after cleaning! The food? How greasy can you make a haddock????Almost inedible. Staff are very busy but also seem very unhappy to be there!!! As we left a group of tourists were contemplating going in...we should have said don't !!!! Will we be back....NO!

We have been to numerous Wetherspoon pubs in our time but was very disappointed with:-

A) Attitude of staff
B) Lack of food

Firstly had to ask for table to be wiped and was handed a cloth to do it myself!
Next, the bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock.
Finally, when attempting to order food was told in an offhand manner that they didn't have any steaks or chips.
Therefore, decide to eat elsewhere and will not be returning for any future visits.

Nipped into Edinburgh for breakfast and a catch up with friends, everyone decided on the standard breakfast essentially the full whammy. Unfortunately two were cold but when we reported this to staff they returned with two freshly cooked breakfasts.

Had a few drinks afterwards before heading home.

Good place to spend a Friday morning.
