“Not to be missed”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

An old students pub recently converted to a more haute cuisine with an eclectic interior the Salisbury Arms provides an stunning but casual atmosphere as well as a scrumptious menu. Do not miss the fish balls or the "mac and cheese" for lunch. The outdoor garden dining looked inviting but was full. The table inside was comfortable and roomy and the waiter was unhurried
and professional and very informative. We were directed to this place by another pub that did not serve food- a ten minute walk uphill and well worth the wander!!!!Tried to go back another day for dinner but there was a 45 minute wait- no wonder!!!

“Excellent! ”

Great food, ambience and service. We had fish and chips and lamb shoulder. Both were excellent. Would recommend a visit but book in advance as the place is very popular.

“Excellent service”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

I have booked this restaurant two years in a row for an annual business dinner. A lovely venue with excellent service - not easy with such a large group. All my colleagues raved about the food, especially the pork belly, fish and chips and various chicken dishes. As a vegetarian I was less impressed with the choice and disappointed with my main course - a tart that was actually a huge pie, full of ingredients not mentioned on the menu description. The dessert menu was excellent though - hard to choose between and all delicious. I highly recommend the treacle tart.

“Great pork belly!”
Reviewed July 11, 2014 via mobile

Came here as a last minute dinner option as it was close to our accommodation.

It was very busy but the food was great.
The fish and chips were lovely, the fish was very fresh and well cooked and the pork belly was divine, although the scallops were a little over done.

The service was excellent and they were very accommodating with a few vegetable changes!

Overall I would definitely eat here again.

“Good value”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

The Salisbury Arms was only a half mile walk (or bus ride) from our guest house, and was recommended by our landlady. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was good.
