Three night stay over Easter, couldn't have asked for a better stay! We arrived at the hotel at 10:30am to leave our suitcase off until check in at 3pm however we were pleasantly surprised by being allowed into our room! We were on the 4th floor, where each floor has its own unique decoration. The room was beautiful and looked like the hotel's own photos. The shower was massive and truly was like the rainfall effect. Would highly recommend staying here, and reasonably priced for the high standard received. Tried the on site breakfast on our last day, very fancy but good selection of cereals, fried food and pastries. Hotel is also directly opposite a bus stop and most importantly the end of the newly opened tram line taking you straight to and from the airport. Also within a 5-10 minute walk of Princes Street and a lot of restaurants within a two minute walk.

Room Tip: King Size double was the same price at the time of booking as a standard double, worth the upgrade i...

From the warm welcome at check in from Daniel at reception to the friendly breakfast delivery to our room from Ajay (who also mixed us a drink in the evening to take to our room after a night out) this was a great stay at a very nice city centre hotel. We have tried a few hotels in Edinburgh at all prices and apart from really expensive ones, I think they are skimping a bit on the little things that make a lot of difference to that "hotel feeling". Not so in the Indigo. Nice toiletries (I hate these filled up bottles stuck on walls in bathrooms!), complimentary soft drinks in our room, free safe and ladies.......... Plenty of power points and mirrors. These things matter and I'm sure they don't cost the earth to supply and in our case, has made sure we return to this hotel from now on.
Location perfect, comfy beds and first class staff are the icing on the cake. I was also surprised that despite overlooking a busy street with heavy traffic including trams, there was very little noise.

The hotel is located exactly in front of the york place tram station (easily to arrive and return from the airport). The rooms are really beautiful and comfortable.
We stayed first one night, and asked if we could leave our luggage at the hotel as we reserved a 2 day tour along Scotland, and then we would return to the hotel in order to stay other 2 nights; the hotel staff was very nice and allowed us to leave the luggage at the hotel until our return. We returned to the hotel the next night and stayed in a nice room again. I really enjoyed to stay at this hotel.
The hotel is located at 15 min walking to the Royal Mile, therefore we could make all the tourist route by walking.

We stayed for one night on Sat 21st June. I booked it as a present for my Fiancé s birthday so wanted somewhere a bit special and it couldn't have been better.

The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Although check in wasnt til 3pm we arrived at 11.30 wanting to drop our bags off so we didn't have to carry them around with us all day. Our room was ready early so the receptionist let us check in right then with no extra charge which was so helpful and hugely appreciated!

The room itself was clean and the bed so comfy. There is a bar with complimentary goodies and nice fluffy robes and toiletries in the bathroom.

The hotel was easy to find and again the staff were excellent with giving us info on getting around the city.

Breakfast the next morning was equally as good. Lots of choice and the staff were very attentive.

It was a lovely stay, I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I brought my boyfriend to this hotel for 2 nights as a surprise and I can't recommend it enough! The staff here are lovely and can't do enough for you. I asked if they could decorate the room with birthday things which they did and it wasn't half hearted, I asked for lactose free milk which they got me and they also gave us the the colour of room I asked for.
The room itself was a great size but by the look of the pictures we got one of the biggest rooms which had the really high ceilings and almost a separate living area.
Our friends also stayed with us and have gone back since because they loved it as well!

Room Tip: Ask for one with high ceilings, not the top floor

We recently stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Indigo Edinburgh. First the good - this small boutique hotel has an excellent location. Literally across the road from the tram stop which comes straight from the airport (so convenient)! It is an easy walk to Princess Street and the old town, with a lot of shopping and restaurants nearby. We loved the rooms - welcoming, modern and very clean, free snacks and drinks in the mini frig and music speakers in the bathroom. The negative part was the continental breakfast - very bland with limited selection and the customer service. On one of the nights the AC system wasn't working in the part of the hotel which included our room. The room was hot and muggy though the temperature outside was very pleasant and on the cool side. Unfortunately, the windows in the room also could not be opened. The hotel had left a very small fan for the large room and offered an apology for the inconvenience. I think that at over $400/night, the hotel should have compensated us in some way for the uncomfortable night (extra soft drinks, free snack at bar, points etc). Both my husband and I are IHG platinum members and a little more customer service effort would have gone a long way in making us feel valued as IHG members. I would recommend this hotel, but they need a little work on their customer service.

This was by far the best hotel i've ever stayed in! the staff was absolutely fantastic and so enthusiastic! the room was the biggest i've ever stayed in and was very clean and well kept (minus a little dust on the picture frames but i'm picky with cleanliness!) our a\c went down on our second night and before we could blink, the staff was knocking at the door bringing us fans and explaining the situation. we then received an update call every 60 mins until it was fixed keeping us posted. you just don't find hotels like this anymore! i can't recommend this place enough!
