We really liked this hotel, the staff were out to please and our room was great. Its a cool modern look, well it is pretty new, and the location is great really. Now its true that the tramworks are not ideal, and probably wont be either once they are finished but the owners can't claim they werent warned.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet one. we did!

My husband and I had such a great stay here! I chose this hotel because of its cool aesthetic, its location, and - great for us allergic folks - its polished wood floors. What we didn't realize, and immediately loved, was the very upbeat service shown by the entire staff, which felt very personal. (We have no use for the slick, corporate one-size-fits-all approach of other hotels.) We also loved the Aveda toiletries and the in-room fridge stocked with snacks and bottled water for us at no charge. We chose the "breakfast included" rate, and that was a smart decision, as the hot food was beautifully prepared and presented, and the additional cold buffet items (many) were very high quality. The restaurant for dinner was lovely and the food excellent, and the bar menu was the best we've encountered. We certainly hope to return!

Room Tip: We chose a slightly larger room with a sitting area and would recommend that. We were on the third...

Really enjoyed my stay here, Very central location. The room was bright clean and individual. The little extras really made the difference, for instance the 1/4 pint of fresh milk and other items in the fridge for the guests. The hallways were quiet during our stay this combined with the great bed made for a great sleep.
Check in was quick and efficient and staff always helpful.

This hotel exceeded my expectation in terms of style. Great value for a fantastic, well equipped room in the heart of Edinburgh. First choice next time I visit. Ideal for business trips and the weekend away as close to Harvey Nicks.
Check in was slick and communal areas were smart.

The only mark down for this is the location. Which at the moment is a little inconvenient as the tram works are going on right outside. However, once the tram is completed you can bump the location rating up to full!

Nice clean, new rooms. Very helpful staff. Really impressed.

The hotel is a short walk from the railway station. We arrived to leave our luggage late morning and our room was ready so we dropped the luggage and headed into the city centre. Our room 112 was fabulous with 2 King Size Beds, a terrific bathroom with big bath and shower. Everything that we used was top quality the bedding, towels and the coffee and tea making things. The mini bar was free and the hotel staff informed us if there was anything in there we didn't like we only had to say and they would put different things in it but it was fine and we enjoyed everything in it. Shortbread and Oat Cookies were on the tea tray. The staff were all fabulous and couldn't do enough for you. Yes at the moment there is work going on in York Place to put in the new tram tracks but it didn't bother us at all. They didn't start work until 8 a m and when we came back late afternoon they had finished for the day. The breakfast was excellent and very tasty. The location of the hotel was ideal for us as it was near the railway station and lots of buses nearby to take us to Leith to see the Royal Yacht Britannia. When we checked out they looked after our luggage as our train was not until 5.30 p m. Cannot think of anything negative about our stay we loved it.

Room Tip: Room 112 was fabulous

I stayed at Hotel Indigo for three nights while on business in Edinburgh. The staff were great - friendly, helpful and professional but not overbearing. The room was large, very comfortable, clean and modern. The bed was gigantic. It was also half the price of the hotels a few minutes closer to the centre. It was easy walking distance of all of all central Edinburgh locations. The complimentary (alcohol free) mini bar was a bonus and included fresh milk. I'd definitely stay there again.

The room did only have a walk in shower (no bath), which I didn't realise (it was booked on my behalf), however it was nice and powerful.

The tram works are going on outside at the moment (in the day time only) so if you get a taxi, make sure you ask it to drop you near the Playhouse end of York Place, not the other end (unless you fancy a five minute walk!).

Room Tip: I was on the second floor at the front of the hotel and the room was great. It did only have a walk...
