“lovely concert”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

attended a spring gala concert given by Edinburgh University Music Society chorus and sinfonia. Wonderful concert, great venue (a bit chilly, but that's to be expected in Scotland in March!). Lovely performances from all - especially the young soprano Amy Strachan whose voice filled the space beautifully. The sinfonia and chorus did a magnificent job and did justice to the surroundings - lovely acoustics. If you get the chance go and see thus lovely gem of a cathedral (which I didn't even know existed before the concert)

“Peaceful”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

I had time, and I was passing, so I looked in. It's a nice peaceful, holy atmosphere. I've often wished I could attend a concert or attend Sunday worship there one day, but the opportunity hasn't arisen yet.

“Hidden Cathedral”

Must admit that we passed by this Cathedral many times before climbing the steps and reading the fascinating history of how it came to be.

“Serene”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Lovely building. Style not doubt evolved over the years. Sat through a service there and found it to be a though provoking experience. The cathedral is quite easy to find near St.James shopping centre etc. I was greeted at the door by a person who was obviously a member of the church and later had coffee at the cafe on site. All in all a pleasant start to a sunday in Edinburgh.

“Huge”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Vast 19th-century building with additions including a world famous Music School. If you can, stay for a service where the Choir perform - they are brilliant and broadcast on the BBC frequently. The organ used to be a little lacking in thunderous bass notes but that has been put right...and how!
