Owner description: Within the historic setting of Edinburgh Castle, accounts of battles lost and won are told through military artefacts and personal collections. Find out about the life of Scots at war, from the First World War trenches to the Home Front, and learn how conflicts, both at home and abroad, have shaped Scotland's image and reputation over the centuries.

The museum covers all aspects of wars in which the Scottish Regiments were involved, going back many centuries, and coming right up to date with the latest conflicts. The exhibits are are both touching yet colourful with many of them having their own story and personal tradgedy attached. Well worth an hour of your time.

This museum is in Edinburgh Castle. It has two sides and covers in detail the battles and histories of the wars Scotland was involved with. There is a great deal of patriotism in Scotland and a recognition of what they fought for and the people who lost their lives in the battles. On display in this museum are also the uniforms worn, medals won, maps of battles and more

This is a great museum. I love military museums in any case, but the local slant on this and the realisation that the Scots were the spearhead of the British Empire is worth the youngsters of today getting to know. Thoroughly recommended for all ages.

located slightly off main castle walk, not very big museum. Very interesting place to visit and absolutely must-visit-place if you like swords or warfare. the museum closes somewhat earlier than the castle ( I guess, i was asked to leave at around 5.30, while the castle was open till 6.00). Don't leave this place for the last moment
