“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Visited during the Edinburgh Festival and really enjoyed the experience. The building itself is remarkable. Even if you don't have time to look at the exhibit, duck into the atrium which is stunning and a work of art in itself. Also highly recommend the cafeteria just next to the atrium. An Edinburgh friend told us to have lunch there and we weren't disappointed. It's cafeteria-style--self service--but the quality and variety of food is outstanding. Healthy, fresh, delicious dishes--hot and cold. Light, airy room decorated with portraits from the collection.

“Stunning collections”

A fantastic place if you like portraits. The building is wonderful, the gallery has some world class collections. Do not miss! I loved the royal portraits but I think most of them are in the portrait gallery in London.

Always love visiting this gem of a gallery. The permanent exhibits are endlessly fascinating and the specials always a joy! This time we saw the Man Ray portraits and some new work from Ken Currie - fabulous!!

“A delightful Art Gallery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Not only does this gallery have some excellent art, it is also the most beautiful building which an amazing Arts & Crafts frieze at the top of an atrium which makes it worth a visit even without viewing any art. And it's free, so give it a try.
