Owner description: Adults can indulge in a nostalgia-fest and children discover how their (not so) aged parents amused themselves as youngsters in a world before video games. There’s a wholesomeness to the construction kits and embroidery sets that once kept little fingers busy in a world that embraced the notion of "Improving Sunday Toys," while train sets and dolls houses have enduring appeal. If the implacable stare of the massed ranks of a compendious collection of dolls becomes a little unnerving, there are dressing-up boxes, and regular organized activities to provide diversions.

An excellent free attraction. There is so much here to remind you of your childhood. the only drawback was a couple of the older machines were out of action. Not a great deal to hold the attention of younger children, but the over 5's will have a great time

Went to the museum with my daughter and her boyfriend first time they had ever been. It was interesting seeing all the toys frim 1800-present amazing how much they have changed. Staff were friendly great displays and really good information to go with exhibits its free entry which is good but you can leave donations which is s good idea. Souvenir shop with various toys gifts. A must for model railway fans and lovers of different toys.

Wonderful museum where the adults have as much fun as the kids if not more!!!! Nostalgicmuseum with very helpful and friendly staff. It is free and I was not going to make a donation but it was so good when we left I made a small donation. Highly recommended even with out the little ones.

This is a great free museum on the high street. It's about a 10-15 minute walks from the castle.
In here there was all sorts of old toys from bikes to trains and dolls to teddy bears. There are 5 galleries to look in all filled with lots of childhood memories. You can even play with some of the toys in one of the galleries.
But if you have a fear of dolls..I would miss out one of the galleries!!!
Great to fill in an afternoon
