Designed by the Royal Master of Works James Murray in 1628. This building has symetrical balance and incorporates many of the traditiona castle like features of Scottish fortilcaes Peper pot roos crenalations Tower house like corners with jams in between. A masterpiece and still in use by this famour School George Heriots College formerly horpital. Named after its merchant benefactor and banker to King James the IV (I) 'Jinglin Geordie'
