We are a 65 + couple.
TIP go as early as possible as it gets crowded & go straight to the Camera Obscura & viewing platform as space is limited. We would have liked to go back to the Camera Obscura as we were viewing upside down the first time but we got so engrossed in all the hands on features further down the building that we ran out of time!
There are lots of stairs to climb, so take your time if you get puffed easily!
If you've already climbed Arthur's Seat & walked up the City's hilly streets, you will be able to cope with the stairs!
Take a camera to photo various hands on feature results & of course the view from the top.

Remember that you can visit the shop at any time - no need to buy an entry ticket - so you can do it at another time. The shop has many unusual items, many reasonably priced , which make great gifts for all the family. We had to stop ourselves buying the whole shop.

Spent over three hours here walking around, playing with things and seeing things. The actual show was very interesting and very well presented. Had a great time in here, good entertainment for all ages - only problem - lots of stairs and no lift available, not their fault but the way the building is no lift can be put in. If you can go do!

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Edinburgh's camera obscura. Joe the guide and show presenter was fantastic. Definitely a worthwhile visit when in this beautiful city :)
