“Fantastic historic home in awesome location”
Reviewed July 23, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The Old Chapel at George Square is in a phenomenal location right by a beautiful park and adjacent to the quartermile (an upscale, modern area of Edinburgh with great cafes and restaurants). It's walkable to everywhere you want to go in Edinburgh and a short cab ride if you're not the walking type.

The home is beautiful, and full of natural light. It's very well appointed and the interior is very modern. Great back yard with a parking spot! I would definitely stay there again.

“Great location, clean and very helpful”
Reviewed June 17, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We took our whole family to Europe and staying here in Edinburgh was the best. The Old Chapel was a great find. It was clean, great location and they responded very quickly to our emails. We would go back to Edinburgh again only if we could stay at The Old Chapel. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Thanks again Rick -Arizona

“Incredible house in a flawless location”
Reviewed May 9, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Stayed for a weekend with friends to celebrate a 30th birthday. Couldn't imagine a better place for it.

I've been to Edinburgh a fair few times before and I know the city pretty well - if you are looking for somewhere in the old town then you'd be hard pressed to find a better location. It is the only private house on an old square otherwise full of university departments with lots of useful shops etc nearby.

The house itself is a beautiful place to relax with wonderfully high ceilings and a great downstairs vaulted cellar room which is very comfy.

Can't recommend it highly enough - next step is to return for a festival trip if I can get in early enough to book!

“BEWARE of the Stairs !!!”
Reviewed September 9, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

First let me say that this is a lovely property and the location is excellent. However, prospective renters should be aware of some things that have not been mentioned in previous reviews.

First of all, the house is spread out over three floors. You enter on the ground floor with a formal living room to the right. This area is shown on the picture website. At one end of the room there is a desk and chair ( also shown on the website) . However, there is no television on this floor. There is also a steep winding staircase in the living room (shown on the website). Also on the ground floor there is a bedroom and a bathroom. Both are small. Right outside the bedroom door there is a steep narrow staircase to the two upstairs bedrooms. There is no handrail and the stairs are steep and narrow. One upstairs bedroom has a very tiny bathroom. The other bedroom does not have an ensuite bathroom but the family bathroom in the hall is very large.

On the left side of the ground floor, there is a steep, narrow curving staircase down to the basement level. This staircase does have a handrail. On the basement level , there is the kitchen which is very well-stocked. It had everything we needed. The living room is in the basement level and there is a television. There is only one television in the house. The furniture in the downstairs living room is run down and needs to be replaced. It is not very comfortable. Also, the dining room is downstairs. It consists of a high table with stools around . There is a toilet downstairs. A door leads out to the garden which is quite nice.

We liked the property except for all the stairs. It is not really suitable for people who have a problem navigating stairs or for children.

“Amazing apartment with fantastic location”

Myself and four friends stayed in what they call "apartment" it is a 3 bedroomed fantastic house on 3 levels. This accommodation is decorated up to the highest level, kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave etc. they even leave you tea and coffee. There is a fantastic spiral staircase from the living room up to the upper level or you can take the standard stairs, the bedrooms are equally as stylish with 2 of them en suite and the main bathroom is huge. There is a family room that leads onto the back garden, just off this room is the washing machine and dryer. Everything is here !!!! Location is fantastic in walking distance to the castle and all the shopping, because its right at the university the is a huge amount of pubs. We will definitely be back
