We stayed at the Premier Inn, Haymarket, Edinburgh over a weekend in a family room. The room was ideal as it had a double bed & 2 singles despite being booked for 2 adults & a child (the 'party' was myself, my sister & my nephew). The hotel is in a great position with easy access to Edinburgh city & to the airport, zoo etc with transport links virtually on the doorstep. The staff were lovely - very welcoming & readily took our bags in for 'holding' as we arrived too early for check in. Having said that they had a very generous check out time of 12.00. Breakfast, although extra, is well worth paying for and is very generous & varied with an 'all you can eat' policy. Breakfast is served until 11.30 at weekends. Rooms are very clean & appear to be well insulated - we weren't disturbed at all despite being near to the lifts. Well recommended.

a short taxi trip from the airport (approx £20)
the rooms are as always the same everywhere we have been, hence home from home, and well equipped.
the restaurant staff are very attentive. and the meals are reasonably priced.
The center of the City is within walking distance.
the tram service should be up and running by may 2014.
i recommend the royal mile from the castle to holyrood palace, with shops and restaurants and places to visit.
.

Room Tip: the lifts to the different floors do creeck and grown a bit.

We're massive fans of Premier Inn's so when we decided to visit Edinburgh the PI website was our first port of call. Check in was swift (handy when your travelling with a 2 year old) and only when we went to the lift to go to our room on the 3rd floor did we realise how big this PI is. We had a couple of issue's with a group of men staying on our floor but like i said to management when i raised this issue i fully understand you cannot be responsible for the guests. Anyway…….back to the room. Typical PI room with lots of space, comfy bed, room for a cot and all the belongings we seems to insist on bringing with us! We were at the back of the hotel so very quiet and we were able to have the window open all night with virtually no road noise. Room was very very warm and seemed to stay at a constant temperature of 23 despite our attempts at turning it down. Breakfast was great on both mornings, lots of choice and rather than the waitress coming to take our order for cooked breakfast this was all available in a self serve area….(again very handy when you have a hungry toddler that doesn't understand the concept of waiting yet). We dined in the restaurant on the Saturday night and had a great value for money meal….my husband had one of the handmade pizza's and said it was probably the best pizza he had ever had. (you order these to take up to your room)
This PI is about a 10/15 minute walk to Princes Street so ideally located for a night out on George street. The hotel does have a car park but spaces are limited so arrive early & its £8 a night which i thought was fairly reasonable for city centre parking. Next time were planning a trip to Edinburgh we will definitely stay here again, however i would probably call ahead and make sure our room isn't near any stag parties/large groups!.

Was very pleased with hotel. Not too far from city centre, around 10-15 minute walk. What you would expect from a Premier Inn. Could have done with well done bacon and sausage, although I am sure if I had asked would have got that but would have meant my partner waiting to have breakfast.

Great location within easy reach of Haymarket railway station and walking distance to Princess Street. Staff very helpfull and breakfast first class. The only issue I have, is if I had brought the car it would of costed £8 per night and we stayed for 4 nights, quiet expensive. Apart from this it was a first class stay and would use this Premier Inn again.
