£100 for two nights within walking distance of Princes Street and the Castle - that is what I call value. And if they are doing those £29 rooms my recommendation is don't hesitate and book as it is highly unlikely you will get a better location at that price point.

Clean and tidy with very friendly staff as one comes to expect. The only thing I would say that is a bit of a downer is some traffic noise if you have a room at the front - but if you have been walking around Edinburgh all day plus a few whiskies the chances are that you will be off to the land of nod quite quickly

Just like its pub equivalent the Wetherspoons chain, Premier Inn continues to provide a consistent standard at an affordable level

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms at the front on the main road. It is not a massive issue but light sleepers w...

We booked into the Edinburgh Haymarket Premier Inn for a cheap getaway. The hotel was 2 minutes walk from Haymarket Station, and about 10 minutes walk in the opposite direction to the centre of Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and helpful, and as usual with a Premier Inn the bed was extremely comfortable, the room spacious and had all the basics you needed. The bar downstairs was also perfectly nice, and the staff there were great.

I have recently stayed in the Hilton in Leicster and have to say for a £100.00 less i hade a much better stay here. The top hotels could do with taking a leaf out of Premier Inns attitude to visitors.. Exceptionallyclean, friendly, helpful, good size room. They could not have do more during my stay. In future i will be looking to stay at a Premier Inn rather than the top hotels I use on business. As a woman staying on my own i felt very comfortable here and put that down to the staff. Keep up the excellent work.

Travelled from the Midlands by train and got off at Haymarket Station. Just a short walk away. The staff are fantastic. Was made to feel welcomed and treated as an individual. Much better than many more expensive hotels we have stayed in.
Travelled with our 3 year old who was well catered for and again the staff took their time to talk to. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Took the meal dealto include breakfast and evening meal for £22 per adult. Great value.
Would definately return.

Stayed Saturday 20th October 2012.
I phoned a week before arrival to ask if it was possible to book in early-was informed that if room available would be possible ( disabled room booked). On the day we did arrive early and were booked in straight away which was a relief after a long journey.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful and ensured that we had everything we needed.
Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable.
We had not booked an evening meal and as I had walked more than I should have and was in pain decided to eat in. Fortunately we were accommodated in spite of a very busy dining room.
We were so glad we did, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The meal was served by friendly staff who once more ensured we had everything we needed.
The Inn is situated near Princes Street which it was approximately 15 minutes away. This I would say is for those that are fit with no mobility issues. For those who could not manage I would suggest a taxi or a train from Haymarket Station, which is a very short distance from the Inn, to Waverley Station which is a stones throw to Princes Street, the gardens and near the Castle.
Overall staff were friendly, cheerful, helpful and professional. The room and bed were comfortable which contributed to a good nights sleep. There were no interuptions during the night from other guests regardless of it being a Saturday night - a "going out" night.
We will certainly stay here again when back in Edinburgh.

I stayed here to attend a conference at the EICC. Perfect location between haymarket train stations and the EICC. Staff very friendly and helpful and the room very comfy and clean. Wether turned chilly and I was able to control increasing the temperature in my room. Bit noisey in the early hours due to some raucous singing. Wifi works but you need to pay after 30 mins.

Room Tip: Overlook the carpark helps keep late night noise down

Like most Premier Inn properties, this one is precisely what you need from a good value hotel. It's well located in Edinburgh's West End, a short walk from Princes Street, the Grassmarket and Royal Mile. We had a family room for three over a weekend. The room was more spacious than many more expensive hotels, and the Premier Inn bed lives up to its TV advertising billing. Bed aside, you get everything you need in the room. The breakfast is first class. But what impressed most about this place, though, is (as others have said) the friendliness and efficiency of the staff....from room cleaners through to restaurant/bar staff and the reception team. This company clearly works hard to ensure that its staff are well motivated and trained for the job.
