Great location, great apartment, great staff, terrible bed. It's such a pity because we really enjoyed it there but we both lost sleep because the bed was really uncomfortable. The room was really well equiped and everything we needed was in there. It is in a quiet area, but close enough to everything. Hopefully they replace the bed in room 108 soon and someone else can give them the score we didn't.

Room Tip: Avoid room 108 till they fix the bed. Otherwise it was an awesome place to stay.

Really liked this ace. The apartments were really nice and big. Really easy to get to everywhere. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The place was nice and clean. Would recommend people to stay here.

First impressions were that this apartment was a little of the beaten track - which it is, but we soon got used to the 15/20 minute walk into town.
Other than that, it was a brilliant little apartment (113) which opened right onto the street - it was like having our own place in Edinburgh.

Beats having a hotel room any day of the week.

We had a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, full size oven / hob, fridge - infact, pretty much everything you have in your own home. Even the safe in the wardrobe was free to use.

There is even a sound system that pipes radio / cd music to all the rooms including the bathroom.

The location was quiet - even though we were right on the street (the bedroom was at the back).

We never felt unsafe or that security was ever a problem.

We would definitley recommend staying here - if you have chosen Fountain Court - you have chosen well.

If you are staying for more than a couple of days, you will probably get more use out of the facilities than we did for the weekend we were there.

TIPS:

Tesco and Sainsbury's are just around the corner - as is the bus stop (No.34 takes 10 minutes to Prices Street £1.40)

There is a leisure mall about 10 minutes further down Fountain Bridge / Dundee St with a cinema / casino and lots of eating places.

PS - We stayed in the Grove St apartments, but I'm sure that all the others will be just as nice - ENJOY!

Room Tip: Use the bus to save your weary feet - £1.40 per journey or £3.60 per day.

We had originally booked the Stewart apartments, but then I received an email from Anna with an upgrade to an executive apartment at this hotel which was much appreciated. We also got early check-in and breakfast (instead of the free parking offer which we couldnt use as we came via plane). Upon arrival, Chloe was at reception and didn't know about the upgrade which made me slightly nervous I must admit. But a quick check revealed all and we were quickly checked in. The apartment was fantastic! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge, kitchen with all amenities. We had room 423 which was next to the elevator but we didn't hear anything so that was fine. This hotel is located about 20 mins walk from the town centre but it was nice weather and not a problem. There are a few restaurants nearby and the area at night is very quiet. The apartment had an option of having music/movies on speaker throughout the apartment but they crackled more than anything, so we couldnt use those. The bathroom also had a tv though which was fun! There was also an ipod docking station which when tried gave the error message 'this device is not supported by apple'. We received a lot of information upon check-in so knowing where to go and what to do was easy. Reception is open 24/7 and a taxi from the airport to the hotel is about £20. The airport bus (line 100) is quite far from the hotel so a taxi is more convenient. I would definitely stay here again. Thanx again to Anna for the upgrade!

Room Tip: If you have the chance to try and executive apartment, definitely go for it.

We stayed 2 nights at Fountain Court Grove apartments on non-consecutive days. The first night we came, baby cot was not there even though we requested it during booking and also the front desk receptionist noted it down the afternoon of the check-in day. We waited 1 hour for the cot to be put up in the apartment late in the night. The carpets in the apartment are fairly dirty.

We came back couple of days later and again no baby cot despite repeated reminders. This was a different room from the previous one. The doors were so creaky that it would wake up sleeping people and the floor made enough irritating noise. Worst was the breakfast that we had pre-booked. We had pre-booked breakfast for 4 adults. They left half a loaf of bread to be shared between 4 adults. The half loaf was clearly taken out of original wrap and put in another wrap. And then milk left for 4 adults was a small 500 ml bottle. The front desk manager did take the breakfast back when we complained and refunded us the money after confirming with his manager a few days later. The very reason for pre-booking the breakfast was lost and left bad taste.

On the positive side, the beds were clean and so were bathroom and kitchen. The sheets looked clean too. Couple of service people were helpful. Hence, 2 stars.

Regards,
AC

We had actually booked in at the 3 star apartments (Morrison) but were up-graded to Fountain Court on arrival which was a wonderful surprise.. The one bed-roomed apartment we were given was SO sweet and clean and had everything you could possibly want in it - right down to milk, teabags and coffee etc. Plus a sweet little patio outside! The staff on Reception could not have been more helpful anfd friendly-and were a positive "Fountain" (pardon the pun!!) of information about transport, shops, Bars etc. We dealt mainly with Linzi who was definitely a star!!! So thankyou so much and we certainly hope to see you next year as we didn't get to see half that we planned in the beautiful city of Edinburgh which is VERY conveniently located to the Apartments(10/15 mins walk to Princes Street).

This was perfect for us, couldn't fault it. We stayed for 3 nights during the Fringe Festival last month in August; myself, my husband and 2 teenage children. Very reasonably priced, clean, had everything we wanted/needed, including internet. Very comfortable, with plenty of room for us all - it meant we had our own space, as opposed to all being in one or two rooms in a hotel family room. About a 15-20 minute leisurely walk to and from the Festival each day, which was perfect, as very relaxing way to start and end the day (could have got a taxi if we'd wanted to). A Tesco Express just around the corner, to get all the bits and pieces that we needed. We ate out every lunchtime and night, around the Festival, but some lovely breakfast places near the Apartment for the days we decided to have breakfast out, instead of some cereal/toast in the Apartment. All in all, would highly recommend, and would definitely stay there again
