On hearing good things about this place from friends Me and my girlfriend went to eat here around 13.00 on a Monday for the £7.50 menu, when we sat down we immediately felt rushed to order and we were then told that half the starters where off.
The starters we ordered came and looked terrible, soup was cold.
The waiter then appeared with our main courses when we had not yet finished our starters so he stormed off and put them on the work surface near the till where obviously they would get cold. When we finished our starters we shouted him over and we had our cold disgusting mains of Campbell's tomato soup inspired pasta dish and again Campbell's tomato soup lasagne.
After our horrible main courses we had the waiter come over and he asked what we want as our dessert, we both asked for coffee to be told that the coffee machine was switched off as they close at 14.30, and this was 14.10 so surely we had time for a coffee!! oh but we could have ice cream.
When leaving the waiter was not very helpful and had already told a family of four to come in and sit down at 14.00 but order quickly they sat for around 10 minutes to be told that the kitchen was closing so they got up and left.
All round a rubbish experience and will not be back, stay clear unless you like Campbell's soup!!

“Three Course Lunch For £7.50”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

We had lunch here today and have to say, for £7.50 it is great value. There is plenty of choice for starters and mains (two choices for desert although I think there is normally three) and you certainly can't say they scrimp on the portion sizes. 5 hours later we are still stuffed to the gunnels!

For the money, the food quality is absolutely fine and the service is excellent.

Anyway, if you are hungry but don't want to spend a lot, give this this place a try. I don't think it will let you down,

“Good service, good food”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

I have to say I am not a lover of Italian food however it was a very special family occasion not to be missed!
Service was very good considering we were a large group. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Food was of a good quality and wine was reasonably priced. The evening was a great success and none of our party had any complaints about food or service.
Would certainly be able to recommend this restaurant.

“A good Italian Good food, decent prices”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Amazing roasted butternut squash with ricotta, walnut and pecorino cheese! This was to die for. My partner has Spaghetti bolognese which was OK, nothing special. The Arancini rice balls were tasty. We also had the calamari fritti which I'm afraid were a bit rubbery and not so hot.

The wine recommendation was spot on and very good value for money.

All in all a very decent Italian restaurant in Edinburgh city centre
