“A Proper Hotel”

Recently stayed en route for a small break to Northumberland. This recently built Premier Inn is situated on an industrial estate next to the airport, but dont let that put you off.The actual hotel is spotless, the rooms comfy and the onsite restaurant very good. Sat outside in the evening watching the planes coming in(very close), but once in the room you dont hear them at all. Booked again for November prior to flying to Paris.29 pounds for a family of three is good value and definitely a notch up from a Travelodge.

Hi

We stayed in Edinburgh premier in middle of April, We were down collecting our new car and we needed somewhere to stay for the night. It was a brand new hotel just built in february or march, We checked in with their brand new automated machines very handy and got a key card for all of us we checked into our room. Very modern nice room spacious and best of all AIR CONDITIONING the other hotels ive been in dont have air con so it was great for once.

We had tea in their restaurant which was just like a beefeater it was yummy. In the evening we went back into Edinburgh for a look round then back to the hotel, With the sounds of the planes going past you didnt hear them even though our windows were still open wide + air con on. Our sleep was great plus the breakfast in the morning was great aswell. It was a great nights stay exensive but it was my Dads birthday so anything for him hehe.

Enjoy your nights stay if your booking in there !

Room Tip: Dont take my word for it, Try it yourself

We stayed over the night before our flight from Edinburgh . The reception staff were nice & efficient, rooms were large and comfortable and location is great. We were pleased to see there was on-site free car-parking and the 10 minute trip to the airport in the morning was hassle-free. McDonald is just near the hotel and there is a huge shopping center 10 minutes drive.
WI FI IS NOT FREE- very disappointing and unnecessary. One should get it free anywhere these days! (that is the reason why the rating is 4 and not 5).

My wife and I were in Edinburgh for two nights for a conference at Napier University's Sighthill campus and this Premier Inn seemed ideally located close to the airport and the campus. We'd been happy with a different Premier Inn previously, so decided to book this one, which only opened earlier this year.

As my wife is a wheelchair user, we'd booked an accessible room, which was large and comfortable. The adaptations in the large bathroom were perfect - large roll-in shower, equipped with a good shower seat and plenty of grab rails etc. The loo was higher than usual and the hand-basin lower - all helpful features.

What really surprised us (despite their advertising) was how comfortable the bed was - it really was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we've slept in for a long time. A nice soft duvet - much nicer than standard hotel sheets and blankets - and thick soft pillows made for a very good night's sleep. The window in the room didn't open, which we would have preferred - but the air conditioning managed to keep the room not only at a suitable temperature but also fresh, so this wasn't a problem.

Breakfast was a buffet of bacon, eggs, beans, sausages etc. and cold fare such as cereals, fruit salads, breads, croissants, yoghurts, etc. The coffee was surprisingly good. There were no queues and the staff were friendly and helpful.

As we arrived late in the evening we had to eat in the restaurant, which we weren't expecting to be good. As expected, all the food items we had were mediocre to poor in quality, but the service was also terribly slow, even though by the end we were the only people still eating. If you can possible eat elsewhere, you should definitely do so.

The location of the hotel is ideal if proximity to the airport is important but I wouldn't choose to stay here for pleasure. It's in the middle of an undeveloped building site, right next to the motorway and very close to the end of the airport runway. For the business traveller, there's another serious drawback with the location: on the O2 network the phone reception in our room was borderline and there was no 3G service there at all. Your only option for your phone/ipad/laptop etc., would be to pay the hotel £5.00 a day for wifi access. As so many hotels these days provide this as a complementary part of their service, I'm strongly resistant to paying for internet access. This - and the lack of phone service - is the biggest reason I would consider looking at alternative hotels next time.

So, overall, this is a hotel does that does nearly everything you need very well, with friendly, efficient staff, clean and comfortable rooms and a decent breakfast. If you have dinner somewhere else and pay the £5.00 for Internet access you'll be fine.

My husband and I stayed here at beginning of June for 4 nights at £29 per night, whilst sightseeing in Edinburgh. I would certainly recommend this hotel for either overnight stays for the airport or longer stays like ours.
As others have said, rooms are good, with everything you need for a good night's sleep, spotlessly clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. You do not hear the aeroplanes or the nearby motorway, rooms are quad glazed and have air cooling.
The food at breakfast and dinner is excellent. If you have the £22 per person per night meal deal, it is a lot cheaper than ordering items separately, it includes breakfast, 3 course meal and a drink.
We were recommended by reception to use the airport "park and ride" and were given a map of where to find it.
Bus fares were £1.30 each way per person, you wouldn't find all day parking in Edinburgh for that price, if you could find any at all! 25min ride into the City Centre enjoying the sights on the way. Wherever you stay in Edinburgh, transport is needed into the centre. So this was a good option.
I cannot recommend this hotel, its location and the airport park and ride enough!!!

Room Tip: Book in advance for £29.00 room rate
