Owner description: Holyrood Park is a unique historic landscape in the heart of the city, whose dramatic crags and hills give Edinburgh its distinctive skyline. Within the park is a wealth of history and archaeology spanning thousands of years. Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. As well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points.

“Breathtaking park and gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

I enjoyed walking around the gardens outside the castle. It's so beautifully manicured it almost looks like velvet! I was surprised how the flowers were still blooming even into mid-October.

There is plenty of parking and PLENTY of space to run around, throw a Frisbee, run a dog, or just plain relax! Grounds are very clean

“avoid the ice cream van”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

I was visiting the regional assembly near to the park and found that parking in the park was cheapest (free) however i would have been cheaper parking at the "parliament" building.
The ice cream van which my daughter had to visit charged three pound for a "delux tub" which our local van charges £1 for.
Nice view of Arthur's seat though

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

We spent most of our 1st day in Scotland here, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful setting for walking after a long plane flight. Don't be intimidated - definitely climb up to Arthur's Seat for the spectacular view.
