My wife and I spent two nights at Bell's Brae House and our hosts Stephanie and Stuart made us most welcome.
The quality of service and accommodation are excellent and the history of the house and area are fascinating. Stephanie and Stuart made us a breakfast that can only be described as "top notch" They have an attention to detail that makes your stay with them feel all the more special.
We would love to stop again and would highly recommend anyone looking for a quality place to stay, close to the centre of Edinburgh in a quiet village atmosphere to give them a call.

Great accomodations, great location, great hosts. Stuart and Stephanie made our first three days in Edinburgh and Scotland a memorable one, openly sharing their knowledge of the city and its history. It was like staying with friends, and the accomodations were beautiful. When we come back we'll stay at Bell's Brae House.

Room Tip: Only one room to choose from, but it's fabulous, with a great view

Just returned from the most delightful weekend away in Edinburgh and two glorious nights' accommodation at Bell's Brae House. Greeted from a long train journey with warm company and a fantastic glass of red – it felt like a visit to old friends. The Riverside Room was simply perfect – little touches such as the homemade shortbread and sherry decanter made all the difference, and, as other reviewers have rightly identified, the room hosts the most divinely comfortable bed – it felt like sleeping on a cloud! Great location, great breakfast, great place to stay.

We've been twice at Bell's Brae this year, and do love the place and people. Perfect bed and delicious food, outstanding hospitality and luxury. Just a few minutes walk from the center, you find yourself princely welcomed in the historic Dean Village at the Water of Leith. Enjoy an unforgettable stay!

As visitors to Edinburgh every year, I am slightly hesitant to write this review as I want to keep it a secret so it is available whenever we want to stay! The welcome could not be warmer, the breakfasts are delicious and keep you going nearly all day, the room is beautiful and has the most comfortable bed you could wish for, and the views onto the Water of Leith are just some of the reasons to consider a visit here. We also indulged in one of Stephanie's very relaxing massages, and the location to the centre during the Festival is easy walking distance to the Mile, and yet far enough away to feel as if you are in a different city. Absolutely wonderful.

A wonderfully quiet and relaxing place to stay after the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh during the festival, but just a 10 minute walk away. Beautiful room, extra comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast, very welcoming hosts and lovely walks along the river. What can we say - if you are going to Edinburgh stay here!

My husband and I were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and we were looking for somewhere a little more unique than a large impersonal hotel. We definitely found this in Bells Brae House.
On arrival house is in such a beautiful location overlooking the river. Even though you are only 5/10mins walk from the centre of town you would have been in the countryside. Our room was just beautiful and I honestly can say I have never slept so well before – we even requested the band name of the bed from the owners as I think we are going to invest in one!

The owners were so welcoming and the breakfast was great – don’t think we needed lunch either day as we were so full from the breakfast!

I would highly recommend this B&B for a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle – but close enough to walk to see the sights.
