Bell's Brae House Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #61 of 393 Edinburgh B&B and Inns

Not only is this B&B just a few minutes walk from the centre of Edinburgh, but you also feel like you are staying in the beautiful countryside at the same time. Beautiful, picturesque and very quaint. I have never slept so comfortably in years. Well worth the price and much more relaxing and scenic than any high street hotel. Stay here and you will see a side to Edinburgh that most tourists will never see. Finally, Stephanie and Stewart are terrific hosts and make you feel very welcome. It's couples perfection....

Room Tip: There is only one and that is what makes it perfect.

If you are looking for a very charming B&B (1 cosy room) we can highly recommand the Bell's Brae. Romantic and quiet area but perfectly situated to discover the city by foot.
You really feel that Stephanie and Stewart love to welcome their guests, prepare a great breakfast and even organised a ''marmite'' for us.
Authentic house with character!

We stayed in Bells Brae B&B for three days in August and can highly recommend the place. Nicely located directly at the river, it is remote and quiet, still very close to the center. Stewart and Stephanie are great hosts. Room, breakfast, location, just perfect. Thank you.

Stewart and Stephanie are very accomplished hosts - you would think they had been doing this all their lives. They create a very warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The B & B is quite perfect - great location, beautiful room and the most fantastic breakfasts. Just hope we get to return on a holiday trip instead of a business trip and could then enjoy the B & B even more. Highly recommend this B & B.

Just returned from my vacation and the best part of my trip was visiting Edinburgh and staying at Bell's Brae House. Ideally situated - just a 15 minute walk to the Castle. Stewart and Steph are the most gracious hosts. After spending a few minutes with them upon my arrival I felt like I had known them for years. The room was quite comfy and extremely clean. The bathroom is just across the hall from your room and was spotless. Stewart will cook you a massive breakfast in the morning which will keep you going all day long. I highly recommend Bell's Brae House.

Everything about Bells Brae B&B in Edinburgh was perfect. The room could not have been more comfortable, with fluffy bedding, delicious biscuits and the most astonishingly beautiful view of the stone terrace full of flowers and the river below. Our hosts, Stephanie and Stewart, were delightful, both welcoming and helpful (great restaurant recommendations) with an ease that made you feel completely at home. The breakfasts were delicious, accompanied, most thoughtfully, by a print-out of the hourly weather report for the day. Their old stone house is beautiful, in a peaceful location that is a five minute walk to the center of Edinburgh. Amazing. We can't wait to return.

It was an absolute treat to stay at this amazing historical property. Stewart and Stephanie were born to be B&B hosts - interested in you but not intrusive, genuinely pleased to welcome guests. The location is fabulous, with a real village feel along the river, but a short walk to the centre. The building is incredible - tiny staircase worn by centuries of feel, amazing view over the river, fabulous conversion from a Victorian schoolhouse for part of the building. The wate rrushing through the river lulled us to sleep. Great bathtub. Fabulous breakfast. You can meander along the river for miles, or stroll to the Art Museum, entering from the river.

There is only one guestroom in this unique property, so definitely book ahead. We'll definitely be back.

P.S Resist the tempting eyes of Pebbles, the spaniel - no food at the table!
