“Authentic Spanish Tapas”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

El Quijote has a real authentic Spanish feel. Avoid the tapas chains and opt for this little gem instead. The owners/staff/management are clearly foodies from Spain and have brought the best of their country's cuisine to the restaurant's menu. The portions and prices are good. The restaurant itself is small, warm and relaxing. For authentic Spanish tapas in Edinburgh this is the place.

“Delicious food, relaxed ambience”

A dinner for two. Great food and wine, attentive staff. a chance to practice my rusty Spanish, I rate this place. If they have fresh pulpo, you should try it.

“A true taste of Spain”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

3 of us dined at El Quijote, and were really pleased with what we found. Very friendly service, a nice choice of spanish wine and a small but cute interior. The menu choice is apparently more authentically spanish that the more British "tapas" places (for example, no Patatas Bravas on the menu here!)
The olives are to die for - a delicious way to start whilst you're choosing from the interesting menu. There are tapas portions, or larger portions, covering fish, chicken, meat and vegetarian choices. My favourite tapas was aubergine, with chorizo "paste" and cheese, breaded and lightly fried - delicious. We also had spanish cheese with a tomato preserve which was really good. Other tapas was also good.

WOuld definitely recommend and visit again. I think it only has about 10 tables, so worth booking in advance, particularly on busy nights.

“Authentic Spanish food in the centre of Edinburgh!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Four of us had dinner last night El Quijote - a brilliant Spanish resturaunt in Brougham Place that serves authentic Spanish food/tapas.

Very tasty food (with some great veggie options), a good wine list, really nice atmosphere (with lots of Sapnish customers & staff) and it is very reasonably priced.

If you get the chance, give it a go - but book, it's small and apparently always busy!

“Brilliant!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Very much enjoyed my "El Quijote" experience, food was very tasty, mixed and match dishes and had a ball.

Very reasonably priced.

Mush be authentic because its frequented by an expat Spanish crowd.

Great atmosphere unlike the massive chain restaurant situated on George Street!

Go El Quijote!!
